I don't want to root against our team, I just really want root against Landon Donovan. Is that ok?

Of course...as long as it's the team succeeding before Landon failing.

Just like I root against Troy Perkins...but not for United to lose.

Oddly enough, this is a question many within the Barra ask themselves. ;)

I like him in red, white and blue... but hate him in Green and gold.

    That's ok, too.

I think he typifies a lot of younger US players...

They are soft, glorified primadonas. When have you ever seen Landon, Beasley, or Convey step up when they are bitch slapped and have their faces shoved in the dirt?

They always seems to lay down and just take it.

They need to grow some balls and learn to step it up.

Well, to be fair, Bobby was the best US player today. That's kind of like Frankie Hejduk being describe as having the best performance by a US player on the '98 WC team, but he was.

Frankly to me it looked like a guy who plays for Reading banging lower Premiership level-easy to stop crosses at a Chelsea/top of the EPL level keeper.

He didnt take people on and he didnt seem to be hitting his crosses at anyone in particular.

I am not saying its Bobby's fault (it clearly wasnt) but I am openly wondering if this new generation of MLS grown American players have the balls to step it up when being physically abused in a major game versus a quality opponent.

From what I have seen, it appears they are far more likely to dissapear ala Landycakes today :(

    Also... I thought Reyna was.

In my opinion he was the only player out there for the full 90 who didnt look intimidated or in awe of the Czech's

And he was the player moving in geologic time to fail to shut down Rosicky on his first goal. But at his slooow pace he did play well.

Disagree completely. I thought Bobby looked lost most of the game. Reyna and Johnson were OK, but just barely.

We came out flat and nervous and the Czechs handed us our asses. We can now play better than Brazil and perhaps not make it out of the group. We got trodden on...

Bruce is a very loyal coach, so I think we'll see Beasley back on the field (esp. after being called out like that) but on the left side, in his familiar position. I predict Dempsey comes in on the right.

You bumped a seven year old thread because of an article that you didn't supply a link to?
