The Africa Cup of Nations will have their draw tommorrow, and their seeding system is: http://www.cafonline.com/userfiles/file/Comp/CAN2013/procedure_draw_2013_E.pdf

Point system based on results of the last three tournaments: winner (7), runner up (5), SF (3), QG (2), first round (1).

Multipliers: most recent (x3), second recent (x2), third recent (x1).

Applying these rules to the last three Concacaf GC's gives:

    2011 (x3); 2009 (x2); 2007 (x1); Pts; Team
    7; 7; 5; 40; Mexico
    5; 5; 7; 32; United States
    3; 3; 2; 17; Honduras
    3; 2; 2; 15; Panama
    2; 3; 2; 14; Costa Rica
    1; 2; 3; 10; Canada
    1; 2; 3; 10; Guadeloupe
    2; 1; 1; 9; El Salvador
    2; 0; 2; 8; Guatemala
    2; 1; 0; 8; Jamaica
    1; 1; 0; 5; Grenada
    0; 2; 1; 5; Haiti
    1; 0; 1; 4; Cuba
    0; 1; 0; 2; Nicaragua
    0; 0; 1; 1; Trinidad and Tobago
    30; 30; 30; 180; Total

And of course, after the qualifiers are known, Concacaf puts the ping-pong balls into four pots, to dr.... oh, wait; they don't really do that. They place teams into groups. Just doin' the calculations, folks, for the arguments' sake...
