I've been to parts of Whitelandia where they look like the 1950s hit & never left. Attitudes & fashions.
F*ck you haters - Billy Joel, bitches! Miami 2017! You know those lights were bright on Broadway That was so many years ago Before we all lived here in Florida Before the Mafia took over Mexico There are not many who remember They say a handful still survive To tell the world about The way the lights went out And keep the memory alive
On a more seriously retirement community note: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41258307 Six people at a Florida nursing home that was left without power for days after Hurricane Irma have died. Police evacuated 115 residents on Wednesday from the facility, whose air conditioning was cut by the storm. ... The facility is not the only Florida nursing home that has been left without power by Irma. More than half of a large retirement community in Pembroke Pines, Florida, still had no electricity by Wednesday morning, leaving elderly residents stuck in rooms with no access to lifts. Pembroke Pines police spokeswoman Amanda Conwell told the Miami Herald that officers were at the scene. She said some of the 15,000 residents at Century Village were vulnerable and "we are concerned about their welfare". I'm sure lots of people are going to bring up Katrina.

i had always heard stories about the nuns using physical discipline in Catholic schools but apparently it is worse than I thought.
Nearly 60 years ago when I attended Catholic grade school, the nuns were armed with yardsticks. That was scary enough for a 1st grader. A nun with a chainsaw takes it to an entirely different level.
Was talking to someone who has a friend/business associate caught in St. Maarten/Ste Martin. They were in a "solid cement" building, but the wind was so powerful that it caused the building to shift enough that is buckled an internal wall. Of course, they were in a better area, and saw some looting out the front door. For the first day or two or so after, they didn't leave the house. Somehow they were able to catch a ride with somebody going to Anguilla and are now back in the states. And there is power back in Turks and Caicos. https://www.oceanclubresorts.com/webcam/webcam.html Check out the "Ocean Club" cam.
I was just in San Fran, it is charming these days. I couldn't go 10 feet without a homeless bum asking for money.
Weird! I was in San Francisco two weeks ago and not one person asked me for money. I'm going to jump to a conclusion here. You're lying.
