Guess a lot of coaches that throw cones out there have no idea what they are doing. There are different aspects of learning and the level of challenge will depend on where an individual is in terms of skill acquisition. I changed your new argument back to your original one. While there are certain times in a players career they will benefit from spending time training with first division players instead of playing in games with a lower level team, they are n't that common. That is why unless a team thinks a younger play is going to actually play, they will loan him to a lower level team where they will develop.
Brazil took Ronaldo to USA 94, he didn’t play 1 game... Ronaldo is possibly top 5 of all times. The younger you get exposed to a high level of competition, the better it is for you. Is like hanging out with Lyons, eventually you become one of them.
Lot of different rumors, but the one that made the most sense to me was Hugo and Richie Williams hating each other and arguing about training and tactics. Richie is an insider and he’s never gonna admit he’s a worse coach than Perez. If one of them had to go, you know it was always gonna be Hugo
Sorry to jump in on this late. I go around and around on this in my head. I don't think it's a terrible thing to sit and earn your spot as long as you have a legitimate shot. And a legitimate shot means having a coach who is invested in you as well as you not being completely in over your head. To play off your smartest person in the room, practice is making you book smart. Actual game play is the application of knowledge and the gaining of experience.
Did it help Jovan Kirovski? He has arguably the most impressive resume bar none from a development standpoint of any American. But, his games played is less than impressive. And his effect on the national team is meh.
Was that ever actually confirmed? (Also, in googling this I was reminded that Brazil's loss in the 1998 final sparked a no-shit congressional investigation. Maybe we should haul Sunil and Arena in front of Trey Gowdy and company.)
The second worst part of us not qualifying is that now people are going to read someone spouting platitudes and easier-said-than-done talking points and so many people are going to lap it up and decide that THAT GUY is the answer to all the problems. Just like the last dope that spouted some platitudes and talking points after (a supposed at the time) failure. Hugo Perez has no qualifications and no business being our coach.
I'm not qualified to answer the question in the OP. But then again, neither is Sunil. Let's fix the first problem first.
He was sick before the game, he wasn’t supposed to play. I was talking about USA 94 no about France 98, Ronaldo was 17 in 94 I believe, he didn’t play one game in the World Cup.
Carrying Ronaldo in 1994 was doing me for the uproar ofmpreparing him for 1998, right? Right? And if he had a psychological breakdown of some kind before the final, well, that plan obviously didn’t work, right?
