all in all looked good today, Luiz a bit of an adventure as always, Jorginho what a difference he brings

As opposed to Morata? He was fine today.

Jorginho playing balls into space for Hazard all season should be fun.

I can't see him picking him ahead of Kovavic . I just don't know what he offers Chelsea . I must admit that when i first saw him play for Everton . I thought he was going to be one of England's greatest players . I mean better than gerrard, beckham lampard etc. He looked special. I must have been smokin someting at the time.

By the way in the first half, Jorginho played 24 passes, with a 100% pass completion record.

    Probably some green grass :D

He was fine today, enough that I won't be angry if I see his name on the sheet.

Plenty of good performances today but major work in progress particularly at the back. Still, can't ask for much more on the first day and the fact we have a lot to improve is a big plus.

First proper match with sarri and job well done.

    Top of the league!

Barkley was fine. He has quick feet. Both Barkley and RLC (when she came on) have quick feet and they were okay, I just wish they were a little more direct and I think they will be when they get more confident.

Morata was also okay - nearly scored at the end. He really needs some goals to get his confidence up.

Willian, Pedro and Hazard . . .we know that they can do it.

Back four a little shaky at times.

    Nice start.

He's had longer to work with him. RCL will likely win the spot as he gets more time with Sarri.

Well, I don't mean ahead of Kovacic, necessarily. I just mean he'll get minutes in cup games and off the bench more than some of the other fellas.

Great start to our season. A bit slow at times, but overall not bad at all.

Really you think Sarri will pick RLC instead of Kovavic?.

I mean is Kovavic really that good . I mean Zidane didn't play him and he didn't get much game time in the world cup.

I meant of Barkley but I wouldn't be shocked if he beats out Kovavic. I think it will take him time to adjust to the EPL.

Some noises that CHO may have taken a knock in training. Hope that's the case (not that he's hurt, just that this is the reason he wasn't in the squad).

Next Saturday will be a huge test for this squad!

re Morata, interesting to check stats, leads team in dispossessions and unsure touches; hopefully he finds some form and/or we let others try the role,
hoping it is not like Baka, where we try the same thing week in week out hoping for a different result, I'd like to see Giroud get an honest chance to earn role ( not sure why Bats did not get a chance)

    https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1...Premier-League-2018-2019-Huddersfield-Chelsea

dispossessed 4 times, 3 unsure touches, 65% passing accuracy

    against city
"The 25-year-old completed 0 successful take-ons, won 0 aerials, attempted one shot on goal, had 20 touches of the ball, created 0 chances and was unsurprisingly dispossessed four times"

And, tbh, I thought his game actually improved over what I've seen of him lately :(

Well when there is no where to go but up, .... anything looks up...;)

may be pressing, trying to do too much and holding ball too long, not good when get knocked off easy compounding his woes

I'll be honest, I think Tammy Abrahams could be doing a better job than Morata sometimes. I'm not suggesting we start him... I'm just saying.

Overall better than I expected we will struggle at the back against better teams than Huddersfield .I am not a great fan of zonal marking it may work better in Europe but in the premiere league I think it leaves one open to a big lump attacking the ball at pace whist the defender is left standing .

We often took advantage of this against the arse.

Looking forward to next week when we will have another week of training under the belt

There were acres of space open wide. We will get absolutely punished by better teams if we leave that much space.
