Donovan looks sharp out of the gate.

I wonder if anyone not particularly excited to see Donovan in this match is actually excited to be watching Everton v Bolton playing in miserable conditions?

 

8' Wind really blowing from Evertons back..lots of long balls overhit from the backline.

 

Foxsoccer.tv video quality is horrible. Max auto bit rate and state of the art system. While the website looks nicer the video quality has actually got worse over the years. The price however has went up.

LD does well to get a cross in, creating Everton's first good chance of the game.

Being the EPL, it could pick up at any moment, but so far it's awful.

certainly not "blistering" compared to his 2002WC self.

but not at all "un-pacy" for a guy two months shy of his 30th birthday.

 

I think they just mean he doesn't run like a headless chicken for 90 minutes. He paces himself a lot more than he used to, but he's still pretty freaking fast when he needs it.

I think what they meant here is pace isn't what makes Donovan the player he is.

 

Well, sure, but I don't think the commentator was drawing such a specific distinction. I think it was just his general take on Donovan's basic attributes.

 

Anyone have a little background info on the guy playing up top next to Saha?

 

decent ball from Saha almost springs LD. if the ball hadn't drifted just a bit wide right, LD would have had a heavily challenged run in on goal.

 

You can tell how bad this game is by the amt of people deconstructing offhand remarks by sports commentators.
