No doubt, he has earned a renewal on and off the pitch.

What are you talking about? Guys like Isco & Bale signed multi-year contract extensions when they were in their mid 20s. It's nowhere near comparable with the club offering a 2-year contract extension for a player who is still performing at elite level and hasn't shown any signs for slowing it down.

Many players (Zlatan, Totti, Scholes etc.) were still top quality players despite being 35+ years of age. I wouldn't be surprised if Benzema can do what they did.

Love Benz but no. Club should take it year by year. Extend him next summer for a year with another option of a year.

Benzema's numbers is amazing IMHO despite not being an out-and-out #9.

It's even more impressive when he had to accommodate for CR7 & Prime Bale.

Those numbers are crazy, especially when you realize his goals per 90 are even worse than a Cavani who graced us with displays like this:

Benz way better scorer in CL. Cavani has been stat padding in Ligue 1 ever since Ibra left and he got to play as CF. Also for a team that's used to thrashing everyone in the league.

Exactly did we not learn from Bale or Ronaldo, i think we should give him a bonus if he does well instead

I’d have to agree with this , or , no Mbappé for another 2 years or so, if the idea that we will try to sign him is to be believed

It was suspected that Mbappe wanted to play the 9 and then PSG proceeded to go get Icardi.

I don’t think a Benzema extension has any effect on our pursuit of Mbappe.

I doubt that were tooling and working deals around Mbappe right now. Seems far too arrogant even for a club of the size of Real Madrid.

Hermel said last year that Flo has been in touch with Mbappe family. We will know if there's a plan in case he refuses to renew at PSG.

Even so, letting any sort of Mbappe decision influence our immediate future is like building sand castles right next to the water.

Besides maybe Messi, is there a single better player this year in the final third?

    Sterling and Mbappe maybe.

Definitely not Sterling. As an advanced playmaker and goalscorer, Sterling is not on that level. Mbappe is a possibility because of his sheer impact with his athleticism but has to show it outside League 1

Has the cast on his hand become a good luck thing? Injury was last season wasn't it?
