Croatia Serbia Slovenia Bosnia Macedonia Montenegro No arguments for the first two. Slovenia, at the very least managed to qualify for Euro 2000 and WC 2002. They were a whisker away from Euro 2004, and they are doing pretty well in the WCQ now. Although Bosnia has good players, they do not have the result to support them. Had they qualified for Euro 2004 I'd put them above Slovenia Montenegro is too new of a country now.
1. Croatia - 3rd place (1998 World Cup), consistently qualify for major tournaments. 2. Serbia - have produced excellent players like Vidic, Ivanovic etc., but they haven't enjoyed as much success on the international stage as their Croatian neighbours. 3. Slovenia - qualified for Euro 2000 and World Cup 2002, but have seen a decline in recent years. 4. Bosnia and Herzegovina - have arguably produced more distinguished players than Slovenia. Still, they have failed to qualify for any major tournaments, despite coming close a number of times. 5. Macedonia - have improved in recent years, some respectable results against top sides like the Netherlands, but haven't come close to reaching a major tournament. 6. Montenegro - unknown quantity as of yet, though there are some signs that they could be a tough nut to crack for almost any team. What @Wappy said!
This turned out absolutely true, in terms of qualifying for World Cup. But I would have been a lot more excited about seeing Bosnia there -- probably many others feel the same way.
* Croatia * Serbia * Bosnia * Slovenia * Montenegro * Macedonia I rate this teams base on every game that I have watched them.
Croatia is the best! Serbia,Bosnia and Slovenia are on the same level,I think everybody can beat everybody. Serbia and Bosnia have a beter players than Slovenija, but Slovenia have a team. I didnt watch Montenegro, but they have a great results this year and a few exelent players. So Macedonia is the weekest.
1. Serbia 2. Bosnia-Herzegovina 3. Croatia 4. Slovenia 5. Monetengro 6. Macedonia 7. Kosovo (Can we caount them???)
Croatia isn't on the same level as once they were. I have them i 3rd and it's a toss up between Bosnia and Serbia.
Officially, no, as they are not members of FIFA. But whatever, Serbia's dreams are preventing that. I think a Kosovo team could be decent. Lorik Cana, Xherdan Shaqiri, etc.
Considering the Euro Qualifiers results (Sept.2010-Aug.2011): 1. Croatia 2. Bosnia-Herzegovina and 3. Serbia (similar level) 4. Montenegro and 5. Slovenia (similar level) 6. Macedonia (the weakest FY NT, no doubt) Next week Slovenia going to play Serbia. It'll be a tie maybe.
I'm just glad I got out of this hole alive. lol My rating goes like this and I should mention this is all based on results/ watching few highlights of the nations mentioned. 1. Croatia 2. Bosnia 3. Serbia (Should be higher than Bosnia, but one stupid game is to blame) 4. Montenegro(I'm an optimist impressed by them so far. ) 5. Slovenia 6. Not Macedonia 7. Kozara 8. Macedonia
Kozara? Our national team is indeed in a sorry state, but it is all cyclical. 9 years ago we tied England 2-2 too.
I will base my ranking based of the Qualifiers i have watched all the former yugo team matches. 1] Bosnia 2] Montenegro 3] Croatia 4] Serbia 5] Macedonia 6] Slovenia if its Ok to include Albania i would place them on a level below Croatia and above Serbia
My updated rankings based on watching quite a few games/highlight from all teams: 1. Croatia 2. Bosnia 3. Serbia 4. Montenegro 5. Slovenia 6. Macedonia Obviously, 2 and 3 are interchangeable. I just put them in their order because I flipped a coin. But man, 3 Ex-Yugo teams in the - FIFA Ranking - top 25. That's a nice number right there.
You know what I realized? Bosnia, Serbia, and Croatia are about the same level at the moment. Sure one team may have better players than another, but overall, all the teams balance each other out when you look at other aspects such as team chemistry, results, gameplay, etc. I'd go with this: 1) Bosnia/Croatia/Serbia 4) Montenegro/Slovenia 6) Macedonia
RIGHT NOW 1. Bosnia 2. Croatia 3. Serbia 4. Montenegro 5. Slovenia 6. Macedonia (sorry ) ALL TIME 1. Croatia 2. Serbia 3. Slovenia 4. Bosnia 5. Montenegro 6. Macedonia (once again, sorry, but Montenegro has now gotten farther than Macedonia ever has in Euro or WC qualifying)
Do exist the possibility to have 4 former-Yugoslavia NTs (Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro) in the Euro?
no currently only three of them are possible and none are certain yet we shal see after nov 15 or on that day to be exact
1. Croatia - They don't have a caaaare in the wooooorld. 2. Bosnia - Beat Greece like a bawss, is bulldozing the whole group, had some bad luck against France in last qualification and with Portugal, and against Mexico recently but they'll do well in Brazil. 3. Montenegro - They haven't lost even once against England, beat Switzerland once, leading their group, played 2 - 2 with Poland. That takes more than luck, plus their undefeated streak adds to the amazement like Bosnia's does. 4. Serbia - Used to be much better in the last world cup, now they just totally seem to be losing it. Then again, Belgium and Croatia aren't easy opponents to compete with, but they didn't manage to subdue Macedonia, while their Montenegrin counterparts are fending off the likes of England. 5. Slovenia/Macedonia - Macedonia has been having an easier run for now, they beat Serbia and barely lose against Belgium and Croatia, so right now I think they would win if these two played eachother. Slovenia though did well in the World Cup, but now they lost against Switzerland, Norway, barely beat Cyprus, lost vs Albania, lost friendlies vs Macedonia and Bosnia, lost vs Iceland. Catastrophic change. So it puts the two on an equal footing in my opinion, for now.
Pretty much what I'd pick. Slovenia is without a doubt the worst in ex-Yugo based on current form, which is shocking considering they almost made it to the WC Round of 16 a few years ago and received a very manageable group for 2014 qualifying. This may be a tad off-topic, but I think it's an interesting question. Where would you put Albania on this list? Albania has an actual chance at qualification this cycle and most recently beat Norway 1-0 at Oslo. The team is quite young but seems to have some potential.
Albania is a mystery lol, I think they're just as good as Iceland right now. Norway in their group reminds me of Serbia in their failiures, but Albania doesn't quite reach up to Macedonia's recent, little bursts of prestige, because they lost against Iceland while winning against Norway, while Iceland won against Norway but lost against Cyprus, who in turn lost against Albania. They're definitely better than Slovenia though I'd say, but I think Macedonia is just a tiny bit better than Albania. So it would look like this if I'd include them: 1. Croatia 2. Bosnia 3. Montenegro 4. Serbia 5. Macedonia 6. Albania(/Iceland , if I'd include them) 7. Slovenia Still, the last 4 teams (i.e. Macedonia, Albania, Iceland & Slovenia), if they were to be in the very same group in the future, that would be a real banana* group. * banana = wacky/uncertain/anything can happen
