Losing by a 4-3 score is better than losing by 1-0, IMO, because I think you can fix a leaky defense more easily than conjure up a strong goal scoring attack.
These strawman arguments on style are off base. DCU is not winning championships with a string of 1-0 results. Their results are average for MLS and and they play dump and chase hockey — fans/viewers are not paying attention. The clubs that are winning hold the ball and play attractive soccer. LAFC, Atlanta, Seattle have all played possession soccer of late. Those clubs are drawing more fans.
You play the style your roster allows you to play. DC United does not have a possession roster. They have a Bennyball roster.
No low fan interest is due to this FO constant driving away the long time fans for the fallacy of these "new fans" they seek.
LAFC is not what they are cracked up to be. Same as the Fake United in Atlanta LAFC will come back to reality next year.
They lead the West by 15 points. That's seems pretty not-fake to me. EDIT: I realize you weren't calling LAFC "Fake" but work with me!
Atl is fake United, lol. LAFC will crumble next year. They got it going this year but won't sustain it.
Disagreed. Even if Vela gets injured they're still loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and well coached. They may not be Shield runaways again next year but they'll be good for a while.
Curious why you think that? They're outscoring everybody by a lot but they also have the stingiest defense in the league. What weakness do you see?
Never thought I'd say it, but I'm legitimately frustrated that Sundays game ISN'T on Flo. Dish/Sling are feuding with Fox so I'm w/o FS1 while they work it out. Though luck. At least a bar will get FS1 though.
Not a bar with a Sunday Ticket sub. Although the late slate of NFL isn’t all that inspiring. Also the Nats game might mean something. Not getting a TV turned until this ones over. Caps are playing, but should be done by 5. Thx, Jay!
Just as an FYI for those who subscribe, you have to cancel your subscription to avoid the auto-renewal. It also looks like the auto renewal doesn't come in at the DCU Member price either.
D.C. United severs ties with broadcast partner FloSports https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...severs-ties-with-broadcast-partner-flosports/ "D.C. United and broadcast partner FloSports have cut ties after less than one year, a relationship criticized from the start by fans unhappy with paying to watch games via a streaming service instead of TV and upset with technical issues that marred several matches."
That they terminated the contract with one game left in the season tells you everything you need to know and more. Professors will be teaching about this episode in sports management classes for decades.
