Just a FYI. We have a news thread daily regarding Fire stuff and various soccer related news from around the world. Thanks for sharing but you should be posting these Schweinsteiger articles in those threads.
A very good, balanced article. I am one of the biggest Schweinsteiger nut riders on this here BigSoccer forum, but do we really need another Bastian Schweinsteiger thread? This could be merged into the other thread that @Fiosfan created for a different article. Or it could simply be added to today's news.
I am also a huge nut rider. I just can't seem to get enough of how good he is and how much he is helping the club.
Take this shit to the nutrider thread! My OCD is freaking the ******** out! I am like the "Dennis" character in SPLIT.
I think he's giving Pawno way too much credit for this - Basti's been dropping back to that sweeper role whenever the flow dictates - whether it be when the opposing team deploys high pressure when we insist on passing it around at the back regardless of situation, or when opposing wingers are abusing Vincent and thereby pulling Meira out of the middle, Basti has consistently read the game and deployed himself wherever he was most needed. This was hardly some genius sneak attack by Pawno.
Agreed. This isn't new. BS played in the center of the backline for much of the Atlanta game as well. He dropped into that slot to allow Meira to cover the poorly defended left side of the field. Take a look at the four gifs in that story above with great chances that NE had in the last ten minutes. 3 of them were directly the responsibility of Vincent and on the one attack that came more centrally, the ball almost fell to an unmarked player that Vincent was jogging back to after Meira had to abandon him for an all hands on deck moment in the middle.
Thank you for highlighting those. The same thing happened in the "highlights" of the game against Atlanta. These flaws by Vincent are pretty egregious too. The more I see the less I like.
