    I stopped at:
Because Norway plays spring to fall and Russia takes a 3 month break from essentially the beginning of December to the beginning of March. Oddly enough, that's the exact same break MLS takes.

So, we just reframe MLS "offseason" to "break" and we're done.

    Correct.
And move the MLS All-Star Game to the weekend after the Super Bowl. Thus it is "mid season". Have Miami host the ASG vs. Barca or Real or the like. Thus giving them the one game a year their sports culture will turn up for the big footy event.

whats the benefit to all of this? how does this generate so much more revenue for the league to make it worth while? how does competing fully with nba/nhl/nfl for tv time improve mls' bottom line? who will pay for all those indoor stadiums? what makes you think the weather will cooperate enough in the south? how do you work the schedule to not be so absurdly imbalanced?

    where is the financial incentive?

Umm... Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Iran would all be serious opponents for the USA. Not to mention other rising nations like China, maybe Uzbekistan who have always had a tradition with soccer. Yeah, AFC would be a more difficult confederation for you to qualify out of

Maybe Japan or SK. I don't think Australia would bother us too much. Iran, im 50/50 on.

that would be too hard for you, too :D ... I can think of at least 4 teams over the top of my head that would beat you badly at this moment (Algeria, Senegal, Nigeria, Morrocco, not to mention Cameroon, and/or Ghana too which, depending on their mood can easily win against you)

To each his own. We're bad yes, but we're not so terrible that everyone is ducking for cover.

Belgium would beat both the USA and Australia.
