They’ve done such a good job on coaching the TV camera folks to frame out most empty seats shots at BBVA it’s hard to tell how meager attendance was but I was gonna guess closer to 2,000. Oh, they’ll be all sorts of excuses and some factors do contribute but reality is no one is buying this product in this market.
You're correct except for one thing, the stadium was debt financed so for Stadium LLC, it's not exactly the same wallet. We're getting into what I do for a living now. The lenders to the stadium care about one thing: the debt being serviced on schedule. Given that the primary customer for Stadium LLC is an affiliate, it would be customary to have clauses in the loan agreements arms length transactions, conflict of interest matters, etc. Point being, while anything is possible, I very much doubt that the loan agreements would allow a situation where the stadium opens for an affiliate at a loss to Stadium LLC.
From the lease development agreement between Dynamo Stadium LLC and the Harris County Sports Authority: "Guarantor" means Dynamo Soccer, L.L.C., a Delaware limited liability company, and Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc., a Colorado corporation, jointly and severally. Team agreed upfront to backstop the stadium debt, if that is the case the lenders aren't caring about rental terms with the Dash.

Sydney Leroix bitching on twitter about field passes for her son is exhibit A that women’s pro soccer has hit the ceiling in America. The league can’t even make players under contract report to teams and this is a big deal. Even funnier are the SJWs who think there is some meaning in this spat. Meanwhile, the Dash probably don’t average 2,500 in paid attendance

The Dash played like they had a bye except the game actually counted. If there needs to be evidence of the failure of the Dynamo/Dash FO (not really evidence since everyone can see it), it’s the abysmal Dash enterprise from the field to the stands. What a joke
I watched the first 20 minutes while doing spreadsheet stuff - every time I looked up North Carolina was threatening. Seemed lucky to be down only 1-0.
I did see that Brian Ching was on the bench as an assistant. I figure one or two things: 1) Ching is a “winner” and has had a role with the Dash for 5 years so maybe it is a good idea to bring him on the field and the bench as an assistant with a different voice and perspective; OR: 2) We got Ching on the payroll, no Vera you do not need an assistant familiar with NWSL and that would actually cost money so we will send Brian down to be your assistant Cheap and shortsighted always wins with the Dynamo!!
That was the funniest thing I read yesterday. I haven't seen possession stats yet, but won't be pretty. On the shots front, it was 27-8. That's not particularly tight.

A tweet like this from the ticket guy pretty much concedes that the club sees winning as secondary to all sorts of “feel good” things. Houston Dash: 1st in fan interaction, last in league standings and owner investment http://mobile.twitter.com/JayAdelberg/status/990389247260680192
