Yeah but he was actually elected not chosen by the Emmy awards or some group of Hollywood executives to be the "spokesman" of the rest of the public. ESPN is the worst offender of this it's become an unwatchable channel
I'm gonna take it that Carli didn't make the trip to RGV for the game last night to make an appearance Up bright and early this morning! Trip up to NYC for @TODAYshow at the 9am hour. Talking @NWSL and #PassTheBall with @lifetimetv!— Carli Lloyd (@CarliLloyd) September 28, 2017

That's a mighty successful women's soccer club Chris Canetti has built!!! 4 seasons, no meaningful games, but a great sales effort around marketing USWNT players who never intended to play in the featured game!!
BREAKING NEWS: Chronic complainer looks for new topic to complain about now that NWSL season over. Stay tuned.
Read it and weep - Dash down roughly 20% from 2016. League down too. Portland skews a lot of the overall figures http://www.socceramerica.com/public...unt-nwsl-average-attendance-down-despite.html
NWSL needs to get Hope Solo back and market the hell out of these drunk tough USWNT players http://m.chron.com/news/article/ale...-world-soccer-police-12249828.php?ipid=mobctp
This is rich (and funny) Thanks to players, staff, support staff, fans, sponsors for making this @NWSL league successful and continue to make better!#NWSLhighfive✋🏽— Carli Lloyd (@CarliLloyd) September 28, 2017
As a big supporter of the women's game, it is again the marketing of the league and our club that is lacking. Only to be superseded by the lack of building a female soccer culture around our Dash. Like a soccer pyramid that starts with the very young youth scene for our area's little girls, pre-teens, our area's numerous high school teams and club teams culture and then all the talent from our area that goes off to the college level. Which is a lot of players. Then our Dash and finally the USWNT and the Women's World Cup.
I suppose offering them $18 an hour plus benefits limits the pool http://www.chron.com/sports/dynamo/amp/Dash-have-very-short-list-of-candidates-for-12258016.php
2017 NWSL Schedule Playoffs, Semifinals: Saturday, October 7 Portland Thorns 4-1 Orlando Pride Sunday, October 8 North Carolina Courage 1-0 Chicago Red Stars Final Saturday, October 14 North Carolina Courage 0-1 Portland Thorns @ Orlando, FL Portland wins their 2nd NWSL title having also won in 2013. It is their third trophy having won the NWSL Shield last year. Three trophies are the most in the short history of the league.
Take a look again. NFL viewer ratings doing nothing but going down. Season ticket holders calling asking for refunds. But yeah, other than that, they seem to be doing just fine. Sports and the culture wars have never mixed.
I think Portland is going to be the strongest team in NWSL for some years to come. Great fans too which is an incredible advantage.
CBS, ESPN, and FOX are losing. CBS earnings will be down 3% in the third quarter. NFL is no longer the good investment that it used to be.
Real Salt Lake is starting a NWSL team in 2018. https://www.rsl.com/post/2017/11/16/real-salt-lake-launch-nwsl-team-2018-season That would make 11 teams at the moment. The NWSL has stated that they would like to do future expansion in pairs. LAFC has been getting some buzz lately. There could also be a team leaving although I haven't seen much about that.
Rumored that Kansas City was folding or moving. I love the below quote from the RSL owner - completely delusional http://mobile.twitter.com/TheDanLauletta/status/931229706514583552
Well, sounds like KC is maybe moving to Salt Lake or they get the players to RSL http://mobile.twitter.com/TheDanLauletta/status/931231075799568384
Just seeing some stuff on twitter by some smart guys (@DynamoManiac ) , definitely some concern about successor liability issues buying that KC team entity. Good catch
