I didn't realize L-L-W-D-W with a -1 GD in last 5 was "rolling": On a roll since @CarliLloyd's come back...with an exciting stretch of home matches coming up! Perfect time to #DashOn up the standings... https://t.co/fh2MBGb2VB— Brett Zalaski (@bzalaski) July 3, 2017
7 points in your last 3 games when you had 6 from the previous 9? I'll concede that as somewhat of a roll. Also, Lloyd has only been back for 4 games, so it is 2 W, 1 D, 1L with her. Granted, think there is a lot of luck to these results, but....

I recognize the Dash have had horrible luck with weather for their home games lately but 3,332 as an announced attendance isn't a good sign. Last week was like 3,900. That implies not a lot of tickets sold

2017 NWSL Schedule Coverage is go90 unless otherwise noted. The NWSL is taking a break for the Tournament of Nations (Australia, Brazil, Japan, USA) which has double-headers on July 27, 30, and August 3. Week 15: Friday, August 4 Boston Breakers v. Maybe. This stretch has been just about the most favorable schedule possible. 4 of 6 at home, 4 of 6 against the bottom 3, only game against a top half of the table team against one severely depleted by injuries and Euro call ups. It gets a lot more difficult from here. If they make the playoffs, they will have earned it.
How "doable" would it have been had they had their star player for the entire season? Until someone puts their foot down and prevents national team players from using the league as a "keep in shape extra job" following their season elsewhere, the NWSL will look like and be treated as a joke.
Nigel, this has very little to do with Carli and everything to do with replacing Randy. Carli sat game before last and the team looked no different from how they've looked with her (actually, they looked a little bit more dangerous to be honest because they were able to play faster). The better question is how doable would it have been had they fired their coach at the end of last season when it was made clear to the organization by the players that they didn't want him at upwards of 50% of the team wanted out instead of waiting 8 games into the season. Apart from Corey picking them to finish high, every single member of the media had them bottom three this year. The NWSL Media Association collective vote was a last place finish. That had nothing to do with the players and everything to do with knowledge of what the managerial issues were.
Since today seems to be NWSL player and alumni social media outrage day, I ask this @DynamoManiac - would these players be fine with say a Kaitlin Jenner-type in their prime playing in the NWSL? Or If someone indentifies as female they can play for the Dash even if biologically still a male? Seems equality goes both ways
So we're equating serving in the military with sports now? Congrats on going immediately to the best false equivalency you could come up with.
It's a fair question. Seems like if you go by all of their tweets they'd have no problem with a trans person in a NWSL locker room as a teammate who had a male physique
