And is Chung Wai Keung also considered a permanent fixture for the senior team as well now? Since he's not included.
https://www.scmp.com/sport/hong-kon...ld-be-world-laughing-stock-if-referee-had-his Hong Kong football would be a ‘world laughing stock’ if referee had his way, says Eastern coach Chan Yuen-ting After a controversial equaliser, Eastern were asked by referee Tong Kui-sum to allow Tai Po to score as compensation. Tai Po still the eventual winners in Sapling Cup group match. I am just amazed that such unprofessional act happened in today's Hong Kong football...
https://www.scmp.com/sport/hong-kon...ng-kong-warm-praise-hkfa-saying-he-would-have Gary White said he left only because it was Tokyo Verdy. He would have stayed for any other offers. He was also full of praise for HK football and believes HKFA can still get a good candidate to replace him, especially because HK has qualified for the EAFF East Asia Cup finals.
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2280622091972253 Senior Challenge Shield Kitchee 3:1 Eastern Longlions Kitchee are into the final. They will play against either Wofoo Tai Po or R&F F.C. on 26 January.
Senior Challenge Shield semi-final: Wofoo Tai Po 3:1 R&F FC Wofoo Tai Po overturned a 0:1 deficit to win 3:1.
Tosu Sagan (Japan) and Shandong Luneng (China) are reportedly coming to Hong Kong for Lunar New Year Cup. An Australasian or Korean club is also going to take part along with a Hong Kong League XI. The four teams will play on both Lunar New Year's first and fourth Days.
Hong Kong youth development coach Michael Boris has resigned after just one week at the job. Kwok Ka-Lok of Best United Yuen Long will take over as coach for the Hong Kong team in the Guangdong-HK Cup.
The Kai Tai Sports Park construction project has been won by a bid from New World Development. Populus and Lagardère Sports are also partners of the bid. They will run the sports park for 25 years and the facilities should be completed in 2023. I think the bidding process was made much easier for the HK govt because there were only two bids in the end, with the other bid formed by Guangzhou R&F and Leighton. Leighton's troubles with the MTR's Shatin-Central Link means they are out of the running for any govt bids for 6 months. So NWD winning the bid is the only logical and acceptable choice.
It's funny how something like this barely registers anymore. It's as if we've become numb to the revolving door of coaches who work for the HKFA. There should be odds available to those who want to bet on which project actually finishes first (if built at all): Kai Tak Stadium, redeveloped Yuen Long Stadium or redeveloped Aberdeen Sports Ground.
The schedule for the 2018–19 HKFA Cup has been released. Only one quarterfinal match will be played at Mong Kok Stadium and of course, Kitchee are involved.
Kitchee signed Australian defender Matt Smith. He formerly played for Brisbane Roar and Bangkok Glass. Kitchee's Korean defender Kim Bong-Jin will be lent to another HK club.
More transfer rumours according to Oriental Daily: [Confirmed] Tai Po swaps David Lazari for Pegasus' Joao Emir. Hoi King are after a Korean (of course) midfielder and are looking to bring in one or two players on loan. They have already loaned in Hui Ka Lok from Lee Man. R&F plan to have three of their foreign slots filled by the end of the window. They have extended an offer to a Brazilian player on a LigaPro (Portugese second division) team but the player's agent has yet to sign the documents. If the transfer falls through, R&F plans to look at foreign players who currently play In China League One as well as young midfield players from Northern European countries. Lee Man have loaned out Hui Ka Lok to Hoi King, as mentioned above, and are willing to loan out a couple more players who need minutes. They have already come to terms with an Eastern European attacking midfielder. Eastern will replace Jose Angel with one of Robson's former teammates in LigaPro. They are also negotiating with an Asian foreigner at the moment. Yuen Long, having already signed Wang Ruei, plan on loaning in another defender who is capable of playing multiple positions. It is said that they will announce the player shortly in the New Year.
Sapling Cup: Lee Man 2:0 Hong Kong Pegasus Chan Ho-Yin (HK Pegasus coach) said it was his side's worst performance of the season.
Kitchee's Yuto NAKMAMURA has withdrawn from the national team squad having sustained an injury from the 5-0 win against Hoi King. Best Union Yuen Long's CHAN Kwong-Ho was named as his replacement.
HKPL Eastern Longlions 6:0 Hoi King Eastern Longlions go top by 1 point from R&F FC. But the top 6 clubs are just 4 points apart so anything can happen.
Well deserved to be named. Just wondering why he wasn't named in the first place... he's the most in form local talent.
HK govt is planning to rebuild Hong Kong Stadium into a public sports ground with running track, so that it can host local schools' track and field activities. All the big football and rugby matches will move to the Kai Tak Stadium, which is set to open in 2023. The govt will start a public consultation soon.
..so that they can redevelop Wan Chai Sports Ground. If they're going to tear down Hong Kong Stadium, they should replace it with multiple football and rugby pitches. Leave Wan Chai Sports Ground as it so that it can serve the track and field constituency.
One problem is that the grandstand's capacity of Wan Chai Sports Ground is too small. The athletic meetings have so many spectators now the demand far exceeds supply. Rebuilding HK Stadium with track and field facilities and a grandstand for >10,000 spectators will be an attractive option to move the athletic meetings there. If they do it properly then it is alright with me to take down Wan Chai Sports Ground and build HKCEC phase III. Although that would mean no more HKPL matches on the north side of HK island...
