this is a good game, los chapines taking it to honduras. it would be fantastic for guatemala if they got revenge after losing to honduras in the copa centroamericana a few months back. and as i say that honduras nearly score!
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!! BONIEKK!!!! Jerez's butt saves Guatemala from going 1 down.
though honduras has made the most of their few chances, guatemala is surprisingly putting the pressure on their opponent as opposed to sitting back and absorbing as is their usual tactic. guatemala is really controlling the tempo and pressuring the backline of honduras. the sub20 star from wcqualifying henry lopez seems to be all over the honduran side of the field and ruiz has dropped a couple of balls off to pappa though he has yet to really connect well for his part. honestly i can't remember the last time i've seen guatemala play a half of possessive and pressured football. honduras has had few chances, but they really made the few ones they have had worth while with that one rocket that was riled off of the top of the crossbar in addition to that first strike where the honduran had the right flank for himself and shot wide. good game so far, hopefully guate can keep up the pressure!!
That wasn't a red card Also, this is finally the first real match of the Gold Cup that both sides are playing well and it's not overwhelmingly one sided! This tournament was starting to look like a joke till this match
16th minute of the second half and cabrera of guatemala receives a red card. it was a no possession ball up in the air that he went up for and won possession of but to warrant a second yellow or straight red is too much. wow. guatemala playing with 10 men for the last 30 minutes now
