Lineup for Paraguay was announced, looks like a B/C team which I don't mind since friendlies are made to test new players, should still be a good game.
one of the MLS teams (Wizards I think) picked up a kid from Ohio State of Honduran decent. What's the news on him?
hay I heard Hendry Thomas, he's gonna pursue a career in europe after the failed trials in Toulouse he says he's gonna continue to try to get trials and hopefully get signe dby euro clubs. any news about that?
I've heard Roger Espinoza either has or very soon will be taking his US citizenship test. I'm sure he's still eligible for both, but I've heard it suggested he's like to play for the US if the opportunity presents itself.
I think this kid spent enough time (until the age of 10 or 11) in Honduras to feel compelled to play for his country of birth. Though admittedly, a creative "assist-man" is something the US and most countries could use.
Paraguay considers Honduras to be a team of Segundo nivel http://www.laprensahn.com/ediciones/2008/02/06/no_les_miento_son_de_segundo_nivel
I think they are being kind to us, we are third level at best. And this certainly shouldn't be news to anyone. Cheers!
Anyone know of a site streaming audio or video of the game tonight? HRN? Yes...I saw the "go to a restaurant" reply...which is not too helpful.
You do realize this was far from Paraguay's strongest team right? But what I don't get is why everyone making a big deal about that comment? Honduras is 2nd class in Concacaf and Paraguay is 2nd class in Conmebol. Their both 2nd class in their federations and the coach even said Paraguay was also a 2nd class team. Anyways good win for you guys and a good lesson for some up and comers for us.
yea that was bad @$$ i was just reading on the colombian threads those guys panama is 10xs better then us they think they are gonna blow us out what do you guys think will happen between honduras and colombia?
Panama 10x better than us? lol I'm expecting a victory in our favor. It's pretty obvious some people in that forum don't know anything about us.
Ambos equipos no tenian a varias figuras en el campo, por parte de Honduras faltaron: Wilson Palacios (Wigan Athletic, UK) Edgar Alvarez (Livorno, italy) Rambo de Leon (Genoa, Italy) David Suazo (Inter, Italy) Emilio Izaguirre (Motagua) podriamos mencionar a Ivan Guerrero (Chicago fire, USA) Samuel Caballero Emil Martinez Maynor Suazo (Koln, Alemania) Por Paraguay faltaron figuras como: Roque Santa Cruz (Blackburn, Ingalterra), Salvador Cabañas (América, México) Nelson Haedo (Borussia Dortmund, Alemania), Justo Villar (Valladalid, España) Claudio Morel (Boca Juniors, Argentina).
Last thing I remember about a Honduras - Colombia mathcup is this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=x1K7u2Rm9TQ 2-1 on neutral turf. And in Colombia, during Copa America 2001 (the one Colombia was "destined" to win) the game ended in a 2-0, but it was a somewhat even matchup if I remember correctly.
Thanks for the "roses," but I think we may be even with Colombia with full squads "on-paper," but certainly not above Paraguay. When Paraguay plays their game they are as good as anyone in South America save Bra. and Arg..
