De Jong has to visit Houston twice this season.

The DeJong tackle was dirty and was the reason Stu didn't figure more in the 2010 cup, but he came back very strong for Bolton that season. The Johnny Evans horror tackle was the effective career ender.

So the Astros team up with the Dynamo and hand out baseball bats to the first 20K fans?

DeJong is unapologetic ass that deserves any bad karma coming his way.

I don't disagree. I've just seen "injury prone" used to describe Stu a few times over the last couple years, and seen others claim that the DeJong tackle started it all in the last day. Really, that DeJong tackle, while certainly dirty and deserving of scorn, caused a relatively run of the mill broken leg (in as much as a broken leg can be described that way). It wasn't the kind of injury that would have any long term career effects. The Johnny Evans assault, on the other hand, was as dirty a play as you'll ever see, and that was the end of Stu as a top level footballer. He was actually a pretty durable guy over the years before that.

If it hadn't been for the injuries (in part because of going to a rougher league in England) he may have gone down as the best and most accomplished player to suit up for the Dynamo. His whole career seemed like fits and starts with injuries except for his Houston tenure.

Likable guy, pretty sure he will be a fixture on TV covering soccer for a while. IIRC, didn't he give one of his MLS Cup medals to a kid battling cancer?

The Charity Event on Saturday was a good one! they played on a short field and was entertaining! Dero's son played and he looked pretty good on the ball, just like his pops! Duece had the goal of the game and Steve Nash surprised everyone with a bullet header! It seemed most of the fans were there for Jake Paul (a youtube star), they went wild every time he did something. I thought he was an idiot and still do, but he is one of the guys that likes getting involved and with his fan base can easily bring extra attention to something.

of all the Amatuers Bode Miller was astonishingly decent. Tremendous athlete with some soccer skills - he must have played at a high level in high school.

It woulda been ideal if a Dynamo fundraiser led by a former player raised more money than our current Dynamo payroll total. Good on ol' Stuie for getting this accomplished.

On paper this was a great idea, but the amount of interest it gathered was a bit embarrassing. He should of made an attempt to do a "Messi and friends". Then I remembered that game is just a front for his fathers money laundering! :ROFLMAO:

Either way, Great for Holden for trying when he could have easily done nothing.

They appropriate strategy would have been to promote Carli Lloyd and the rest of the USWNT players showing up and playing and then just let them no-show - that seems to be the Dash promotional strategy for their best attended games
