The influx is slowly moving in from HK

Reports from <South China Morning Post>

China Super League side Chongqing Li Fan have appraoched Buler Rangers defender Chan Wai-ho

China Super League side Liaoning have approached Happy Valley goalkeeper Fan Chun-yip

But both turned the Super League clubs down becos they wanted to wait until the HK league end first before moving to Chinese League during the Chinese League July transfer window

Another Cameroonian player just gained his HK citizenship. He is playing for HK today against Denmark. It seemed very odd because he was capped by Cameroon during the 2000 Olympics.

Aren't the Olympic squads not considered to be senior sides?

He's a pretty good keeper in Asia. Man U could have scored 10 on HK if it wasn't for him.

There will be no "influx" coming into CSL, more likely to see 2 or 3 signings every year. What I'm wondering is that won't this have an effect on HK's league. How much are their salaries? I don't think you'll see a flood of players into the CSL, but I would imagine a number of HK players coming over to play in the CFL.

"HK, Macau, Chinese Taipei players no longer considered foreigners"

Because these are parts of China.

Of course. But Happy makes a legit point too. They are always part of China but because of various reasons, they did have separate representations and still do in a lot of areas. So this "influx" :), is a new development.

It seem it is not a totally Bonsom ruling

The CFA have make ruling that only the first HK, Macau or CT player signed by a Chinese Super League can be considered a local

Also other Chinese Div are not included in the agreement so outside Super League HK, Macau & CT still consider as foreign player

CFA have be fearing the impact of a total Bonsom ruling on the younger batch of Chinese players

haha, there goes any chance of it being an influx...Anyways, I don't imagine there would be a lot of players from these areas who would be good enough for the CSL, but perhaps the young kids could be developed in CSL or something...

The ruling was the only way to stop a influx of HK NT players:D

Costs & ablities wise, clubs outside of CSL & mid-sizes CSL clubs would be interested in HK NT players over young Chinese players then the development of Chinese players could take small hit

This ruling is moot. Another example of time not well spent by the bureaucrats. The high school teams in the mainland don't have big enough budgets to afford these HK NT players to begin with so what's the point of all this precaution against an "influx"? :D

Here's a thought, how about letting a few HK coaches in? I think at worst they are no better than Zhu but there's a real chance for major upside surprises.

hey wait a minute, this doesn't sound too good. Soon enough Hong Kong will start to challenge the legitimacy of the Motherland.

We can't let this happen can we???

We were only being nice to let Hong Kong have its own football team, let it have its fun

But they are taking it too far.

Hong Kong always had non-Chinese players on their roster. One HK-born British at one point played for the Liverpool of the late 1970s and early 1980s. In case you do not know, that team was considered one of the best ever club side in Europe.

He played for HK instead of a British nation? Was it because of some technical FIFA ruling?
