They will probably ask 8-10 million euro upwards for Gutierrez, if not more. That english kid is also 4 years younger.
Disappointing transfer window so far, like usual. We just cannot put enough players in Europe. League is starting so it's looking less likely that more will leave.

Even with more euro sides taking an interest in Mexican talent, Mexican players are just too well paid. Not a bad thing for them at all, just bad from a transfer perspective. It seems like the only way we’re going to get 2-3 decent squads worth of players playing in mid tier European leagues and above, is if players start getting comfortable with pay cuts or minimal pay increases and actively advocate the transfer. Not to mention they also cost a lot...

Brazil won 2002 world cup with 13 player base playing in Campeonato Brasilerio.

Since then, they've used a handful of local players in the world cup. Unable to repeat the feat despite the heightened expectations.

I wonder if there is any correlation with their worse performances, Europeans winning the past 4 world cups, including the last one played in the Americas which had never happened before!!!, using more and more Europe based Brazillians, no Mexican teams in Libertadores, constant DT carousels, Argentina almost in the same boat,...:cautious:

Our only hope is that liga mx lvl improves by 2026.

I don’t really know what point you’re trying to make but in any case I’d be cautious about using an example from almost 2 decades ago. Today, the best football by far is played in a few European leagues.

  6. Euro top clubs select players that fit their systems and can play in an organized way like following the coach's tactics. Brasil NT has chosen, since that guy that coached in Europe took over, to play in that fashion and selected those players in Europe and thus loosing some of the unexpected in joga bonito fashion.
I think they should use more from the local Brasil clubs to get back some of the unpredictability in the game.

The best football is Champions leagues.

The winning countries have large pools of players and managers to pick from. With their players and managers developing in Champions.

Brazil, Argentina and Mexico are better off trying to mirror something like that instead of selling players cheaply and sending across the pond. Or maybe just get Mexican clubs back in Copa Libertadores.

Football moves in cycles. Like Brazil 82 version? Well Spain and Germany won the world cup with that style... Oh you enjoy the pressing and counter pressing game of Klopp, Pep, Arsene? I wonder what dutch teams did it first...

It’s not either or. But Mexico isn’t close to having the quality league needed for a MX squad to stand out at the international level with mainly local talent. I support Liga MX and want to see it succeed but right now the best players are better off in Europe. They’re too far and in between to really benefit from staying in MX long term.

LOZANO: At this moment I stay with PSV

"It is always a celebration/party how I'm being treated here, Lozano laughs after the match with Fox Sports. "I'm glad we played a good match and we must continue with what we ended last season with: winning titles. For that we must adopt the style the new coach (van Bommel) wants as quickly as possible.

So PSV will face the winner of Borisov - Qarabag. Shouldn't be too difficult of a game to win.
