    So here's a lousy link.

For the third cycle in a row, I'm starting up the election day thread. Yeah, it's going up really, really early. This is at the request of a certain moderator who wanted to get things in order before election day. I won't name names to protect the guilty, but if you don't like this blame Canada.

    -- -- -- --

Some ground rules, which I'm asking the mods to enforce:

    - This is not a general discussion thread. We already have threads for that. This is a thread for election day preparations and election day discussion. That means between now and next Tuesday we will not be discussing the day to day election happenings in this thread.

    - Until election day I want to use this thread to compile a list of down ballot races worth watching, state and local initiatives of particular interest, and other election day curiosities (which may or may not be related to the presidential race). We've got plenty of other places to talk about the main event. In the final week, let's use this thread to inventory the sideshows.

    - But once election day starts, it'll be PBP as usual.

    -- -- -- --

Here are a few things I'll be watching next Tuesday:

    - Will Sheriff Joe Arpaio lose his reelection bid in Arizona?

    - Will California legalize recreational marijuana, ban the death penalty, and, most importantly, finally ban plastic shopping bags?

    - Will Nevada legalize marijuana? (Some other states have initiatives for this on their ballots too, but I'm interested in California and Nevada primarily.)

    - Proposition 60 in California. Why is this stupid thing on my ballot?

    - In the presidential election, how many votes will "none of the above" get in Nevada?

    - How well will the nutty, no-name Libertarian I voted for in a California state assembly race do?

    - Orange County, California has not voted Democratic since 1936. Will that change this year?

    - The Prohibition Party hopes to get 6,000 votes in the presidential race. Will they achieve their goal?

That's just off the top of my head.

    -- -- -- --

Other than the presidential race, what do you have your eye on next Tuesday?

The more local and the nuttier, the better.

    -- -- -- --

    HAIL GRIMES!

    Top ten storylines for me:
    1. Will Gary get above 5%? My prognosis is possible, but not likely.
    2. McMullin winning Utah? Interesting thing to keep an eye on, particularly if the race is closer than anticipated.
3.Will Clinton significantly outperform her polling as a result of her GOTV operation?
    4. Kander had the best ad of the 2016 campaign. Can he defeat the incumbent Blunt in red Missouri
    5. Rubio has had a rough 2016, can he keep his career alive by beating back Murphy?
    6. GOP control of the House; how much does it waver? Do the Republicans continue to bleed out the last vestiges of sanity in their caucus?
    7. If he loses, does Trump concede? If he does, will it be as glorious as I picture it?
    8. Sanchez vs Harris, cuz yay California?
    9. Banning plastic bags, cuz it needs to happen.
    10. Who claims control of the Senate? Will a VP tiebreaker be a thing?

My county just announced that they're hiring 100 private security to supplement police force. Strict ban on poll watchers. Also no campaigning within 100 feet of polling stations. Even just showing up with a 'Make America Great Again' hat counts as campaigning, and you will be asked to remove it.

Seems like they're already rigging the process.

Early voting as of this morning stands at 25.07 million, approximately 54% of the final total for 2012. If early vote exceeds 2012 levels, and overall vote does not, we will be looking at shorter lines. So that's something!

Finally, Decision Day II is upon us.

I'm mostly interested in this being an N&A type thread, rather than a typical US Men/MLS General/You Be The Don thread.

The shitshow stays in the HillaryGate or Trump[F] threads.

    This is everybody's warning.

    Hail Grimes!

    Top stories for me:
How much will Johnson and Stein get, and will they effect any states?
    Will McMullin win Utah?
    Will Rubio survive?
I'm interested in Fiengold v. Ron Johnson - While Fiengold continues to lead, it feels closer than the polling suggests.
    Death penalty in California
    Marijuana laws in several states.
How many seats will the Dems gain the House and Senate?

Two more things I'm watching on election day:

If things go right, the Democrats could regain supermajorities in both houses of the California state legislature.

I want to see if John Mica loses in Florida. Years ago we used to frequent the same coffee place in DC.

The number of lawn signs, the number of ads, and the different type of ads which are either pro Ron (not gonna say "pro Johnson" ;)) or anti Feingold.

He's not making it up, although they will have theaters designated as "red" and "blue" theaters. Anyone is invited to attend though. Yeah I am going to wear my "Make America Great" hat and shirt to the designated blue AMC theater in Baltimore city. Sounds harmless right?

I expect the Dems to stay home. No fury and no cohesiveness. The ones who do go out will get their ass beat by Trump sympathizers who came ready for a confrontation.
