Didn't see it but can't wait for the highlights. Either Celtic or Dundee United in the final. Would love to hear "Sunshine On Leith" at Hampden.
What an advertizement for the good of Scottish football this past weekend was!!! Goalsa, galore, incident, drama, fightbacks, a bright hope for the future & 4 teams that can all hold their heads very high and be proud of their teasms efforts. Falkirk's youth set themselves up nicely, an the Hibees comeback from 0-3 down was amazing in it's tenacity. Then United & Celtic, exchanging the lead back and forth, posts hit, even a touch of controversy to mull over also.It was a great weekend, and hopefully the May showpiece lives up to what has preceded it here - though, that is going to be tough, no doubt. And again, the youth, especially the United teenagers should be credited for their part in the game - and Jackie McNamara deserves a lot of credit for getting that club back on the right path and being bold, in giving youth a chance. As for the Final, this is anything but a sure thing. The Hibees will have the memory of last year still fresh in the mind, not to mention have a century (and then some) hoodoo to overcome. Meanwhile the Hoops will be looking to secure a domestic Double. Obviously, the neutral will probably be hoping for a Hibs win, and even as a Celtic fan I could not begrudge them if they did, nor be bitter about a Hibs win, because of the context. Who knows? With so much negativity surrounding the Scotish game, getting disparaged in the media down south and beyond, no t to mention the embarassment of everything that has been happening at Mordor for the past 2 years - and stretches back since the SPL was in it's infancy. And because of all this, it is only just that Falkirk, Hibs, United & Celtic all be congratulated for putting on a display at the weekend that extolled so many positives.
I saw only highlights. Friends that were there were shocked by how poorly Hibs started. From the sounds of it, they were only average still in making the comeback.
Hibs were shite, even in their 4 goal comeback. If Falkirk's kids hadn't run out of steam then they probably wouldn't have been able to mount such a comeback. Par for the course for Hibs at Hampden. When it comes to big games, Hibs are notorious bottlers. I'd stake my mortgage on them getting turned over by Celtic at the final.
