It isn't the first time Osorio put Giovani in that position. He didn't do anything bad but he looks ineffective every time he plays there. Mexico looked better when he was out
Giovani has said several times that he wants to play in that position, is the position he plays for the laxatives. He is simply not good enough, he has no place in the wings because Vela, Corona, Aquino and Lozano are better options
I blame the altitude on those 2 goals....maybe the ball wouldn't have found the net if they were shot at sea level...
Mexico had Vela, Tecatito and Chucky out there at one point...so sexy Now Add Cheech, Jona, HH and Guardado in there. #stacked
My Russian manager says they are very average. The old soviet school was stripped away and arshavin was the last good player they have produced. When was that. 2008?
Maybe. But Paul Aguilar was the last right sided player Mexico played with before Salcedo earned that spot and I've noticed a real improvement defensively since his inclusion. If Osorio was lining up a player that can't hang 1v1 defensively, I could understand your point but that isn't the case. I mean, I'd love to hear why you think elite teams would kill us with Salcedo playing as a pseudo RB. Neither one is a natural fullback though. Lopez would not play as a fullback in a four man line, he would line up in a 3-4-3 and since that is where Damm will play, and Damm wasn't even called up, it makes Lopez redundant. It's true that Gallardo also isn't a fullback and has been lined up as one by Osorio but Gallardo is a different player compared to Lopez or Damm. On a general note, there's a lot of bitching about who is included and who is missing in an area where Mexico is extremely deep.
I think Salcedo plays right back to allow Mexico to have the option of playing with a 3 man line when they go on the attack.
Well to be fair, I don't think Nasralla is a fan of the ladies if you know what I mean I remember back in 2008 that clown talked so much shit. And then Pável Pardo shut his ass up
I want Panama to get that 3rd spot over CR. I remember how they celebrated when they thought they had eliminated Mexico in the last game. Let them go through the wild card game. F them.
Deep? Haven't a lot of mediocre players doesn't make us "extremely deep". But anyways, that was a good 2nd half. Osorio made good subs. Honduras looked ********ing terrible though.
That's a matter of opinion. CH14 Jimenez Pulido Vela Jesus Corona Lozano Fabian Aquino Damm That's 9 players fighting for 3 spots. If you can recall a time in any of the last three WC cycles where Mexico could pull up 9 players, where over half of them are in Europe and relatively successful, please let me know. Mediocre? please, that's cheap rhetoric.
Ahhh yeah...well, Mexico does not have many players to choose from in that spot. Or on the left side.
I don't know how many times Gio failed to pass to Jimenez. Poor Jimenez looked frustrated with Gio. Gio played a bad game. It's kinda impressive how this team has so many options. Other years we would never thinking of fielding a non-A team in a qualifier with a team that usually competes with us.
I would love to see Fabian in Gio's spot last night. Especially since he tracks back and defends much more than Gio.
To be fair we've played some pretty toothless teams lately......croacia showed some life and they had us on the ropes at times.
