    Team looked much MUCH better when Gio came off. Hopefully this means no more Gio vs the US.

    Russia is a very average, I see them not even making it out of the group stage in both the Confed Cup and the World Cup.

    Chucky needs to learn to relax. There was one goal he missed that he'd score blindfold if he was with his club. I'm glad que Osorio le tiene confianza though. He can be so much better than what he portrayed today.

    Germany brought a B team. They look pretty solid, no doubt of that. But I believe they will be eliminated in the semis by either us or Portugal.

    Historic victory for Mexico at least trivia wise. Alanis scores his 2nd goal ever for the National team. His 1st goal? A headed goal, off a corner kick against Honduras in Mexican soil.

    Then Chucky Lozano scores after his horrible miss off a sitter against Honduras last time he played against Honduras in Azteca and the Raul Jimenez scores after his horrible miss in San Pedro Sula, last time he played against Azteca.

    The best thing in the 2nd half was how finally, after years, Mexico looked in the Azteca like those old games when they had complete control of the game late in the game and Honduras looked all tired and done. I don't think it's a surprised how the team improved once Gio got subbed off. I'll give him credit because he hasn't played with the team for a long time and he didn't go to Denver. But I worry especially because I saw some highlights when he was in Villarreal and like I've said before, at his best with the NT, he was having great club performances. Those things were tied. Hope he picks it up.

    Didn't know Germany wasn't bringing their best, but like you said will still be a solid team.

    Chucky scored a hat trick in his 1st game against Leon and then didn't score another goal the whole season. He's great but his goal scoring is one of the areas where he needs more work.

    I don't really think the 10 role is going to be great for anyone in this formation, at least not against the typical CONCACAF teams. Gio looked so invisible because of this. Same with Vela. As soon as he slotted into Gio's position, he was mainly just passing back and sideways. It only really works when on the counter.

    Can someone tell me what Gio did today, other than that dive and FK that hit the wall?

    There was a counter attack we could have had in the first half where he had the ball with only two defenders in front of him and two men on the wings, instead of taking them on he just slowly drifted left and passed it.

    Gio should really only be used on the wing or as a second striker. That attacking midfield spot really doesn't suit him. I don't know anyone that we have that works there. Maybe Fabian?

    Vela played there a bit today and looked pretty good tbh. But yeah, we definitely have Jhonfai.

    The team itself struggled to score this season. He scored hella goals in concacaf. He's fine. Just doesn't look comfortable yet. Con Pachuca si no anota por lo menos causa 15 faltas. He'll get there.
