We have 4 points right now. If we win every game between now and the Panama game we'd have 16. That's usually enough to qualify outrigtht in the top 3 but at least in 2010 that would have only tied us for 3/4 and depending on tiebreakers would see us go to the playoff. That is assuming we win all four games. In Mexico and In Honduras. Not to put too fine a point on that but it seems highly unlikely.
Okay I see. Crazy how our chances of qualifying are only good if we hold serve against everyone at home from now on. One slip-up at home and we could be in trouble, I think I've seen Grant Wahl and/or Will Parchman say we should qualify. Maybe their non chalant tone gave me too much confidence.
We got spoiled over the past few years qualifying so easily but if we win all our home games we are at 13 points, and then it comes down to snagging some points away to Mexico, Honduras and Trinidad. We should qualify, but there's like no room for error anymore.
At this point we all should probably hope Costa Rica and Mexico run the table on their games outside of against us.
Orlando City leaders say stadium will boost U.S. men’s national team http://www.orlandosentinel.com/spor...pitch/os-sp-orlando-city-news-0507-story.html
NJ and Orlando are perfect sites. Both on East Coast (no bias, just easier to get Euro-based players here), both provide good atmospheres, both are on the larger end of the soccer stadium capacity scales, and both are cities where multiple fan bases can travel. I think the NJ spot makes sense for CRC, given US fans from NYC, New Jersey, Boston, Philly, DC and more can easily get there for a Friday. Orlando is a big more isolated, but Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami and Atlanta-based fans can get there with an easy drive. Those stadiums will be rocking for sure!
the US will almost certainly qualify for the 2018 World Cup but will almost certainly not qualify before the Orlando match #captainobvious
Even if we win our four games before Orlando, we won't clinch qualification before Orlando unless Panama gets no more than 4 points from their next four games including hosting Honduras and Trinidad and Tobago. Our goal should be to pass Panama within four games so we can clinch qualification by beating them in Orlando.
Any idea why the Red Bull game hasn't been announced yet? Decent priced ticket from Newark to Honduras
My USSF contact said it will be Red Bull stadium but until contract is finalized they won't announce it. Some T&C's still to be ironed out.
Nothing that i've seen, but still 3-4 months away. Everything we know is that this is a "done deal" but just not ready to formally announce it. I'd make all the plans that you'd normally make, my hotel/travel is booked.
