Story mentions United coaches doing things to improve themselves, but suspiciously does not mention nemesis Chad Ashton doing anything. Would be nice to read about what he's doing with his severance check.
wow 10th season as a coach no playoff win in 4 years 36.21% win rate 126 wins 85 draws 137 losses Ben is a great guy ... but 10 years with that win rate and no playoff run ... it is a head scratcher
Take a closer look at who he beat, higher percentage of wins against bad teams than other coaches and lower percentage of wins against top 10 teams. We have visited the stats before, he sucks, so no point anymore.
I noticed the other day there is a column for good wins and another for bad wins in the standings. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Can we talk for a moment about the absolute cowardice exposed by the team's decision to announce this the Friday afternoon before Christmas, and without making anyone available for comment? That's what you do when you want to bury the news. I'm embarassed for them.
Come playoff time when everyone is an above the red line team there is, that’s why with Bens record of achievement he leads us to the golf course early every year.
Pochettino said "no", so the DCUFO, flummoxed, said to itself, "Screw it. We'll just re-sign Ben. He's OK "
I dunno. Is it big news that a coach is returning when he's still under contract after a season that saw them make the playoffs (a low bar these days but still...)? For better or worse everyone expected this. What kind of announced would you have preferred?
Speaking of coaching, an article about US pro coaches earning their US Pro License listed three with DC United ties: Nolan Sheldon (present) and David Vaudreuil and Mark Watson (past). Mike Petke is due for his license next year.
My point is that when companies need to release news they must issue but want to hide it, they release it on a friday afternoon. When news is disasterous it's released the Friday before a holiday. I'm not saying it's a major news making event, but if you're proud of the development it shouldn't be issued at the time that every journalist KNOWS it's meant to be burried.
