HALLELUJAH! ...was my initial thought. Then I wondered why he wanted to keep control if he was just in it for the SUM money. Then I remembered that we now are almost half owned by a guy with actual money, based in Chicago. HALLELUJAH!
Also worth noting, if I remember correctly, is that Mansueto, a self-made billionaire, is the only Chicagoan to sign Warren Buffett's pledge to give away half of his money.
No way it could be any worse than Hauptman. Maybe they are working on a complete sale of the team, here's hopping that by the end of the year his owns 100% of the team. #HauptmanOut49%
It's hard to be much worse. Also, I like me a self-made billionaire over a married into billionaire any day of the week.
I'm no tax accountant, but wouldn't it make sense to sell an appreciated asset across multiple years in order to minimize tax liabilities? Could this be Hauptman's game?
Since it's her daddy's money that bought the team, you would think that she would own 51% of the team. Either way I think that they are working on a complete sale of the team, so we will be 100% Hauptman free by the end of the year. #HauptmanFree
Just to start, this guy is a billionaire not a millionaire like Hauptman. But we will see what changes.
