Yeah, that would be the main complaint about the HT schedule; the way it works out, you can get hosed by always having your opponent have a soft week before you. This has been raised in the higher divisions with respect to walkovers, so it could be worse.
I'm running over my IV series with titanic-titanic-WC plus a WC PM WTM. I don't think you'll be able afford conceding both wings. My series is about average in IV right now (maybe a little above), so I think it's fairly representative. I think your midfield is good enough for a lot of series (it'll vary), so the real question is going to be the rest of your squad. To feel comfortable, I think you'll need to be able to average about a 220 rating for the season.
I haven't looked at exactly what TR's doing, but the advantages of doing walkovers during friendlies is that a) nobody can scout us and b) there's no risk of injury. The question is, what's he going to do when we get back to competitive matches?
Are overconfidence events only a risk when there is a significant difference b/t confidence levels? I'm planning how to beat a team I'm facing in a few weeks, and he should be on a long run by then also--so there should not be much difference if I pumped my team all the way up--I'm not sure I can pull it off w/o the increased attack ratings.
No, it's reportedly based on your team's confidence plus the difference in table positions. http://wiki.hattrick.org/Overconfidence
So what conditions need to be set in order for your team to 'pull back and meet their opponents in their own half.'?
and then after that it's random whether or not your team pulls back? What effect doest that have over your attack?
After that it's a roll of the dice modified by whether your coach is defense, balanced, or attack oriented. I don't know if anyone has done any research on how much influence it has.
I don't know if anyone's even confirmed that your type of coach has anything to do with it. (Last I knew, it was a popular theory but nobody had researched it.)
Newbies - what are you going to do with them? The eight place team in my league got subbed out and a new guy took over. I saw him buy a 32 yo player and tried to give him some kind words of advice last week. Check today and we went out and bought a 31 yo with a two week injury
Not true. I think Bjorn has said that it does make a real difference about some aspect of your team's play in the match engine.
He sent me a 5 page message on HT explaining it. I'll Pm it to anyone who wants to see it. Just let me know in this thread and I'll send it out after class later this afternoon.
hey copy me in on that. kuhnscoot for NT Coach! Perhaps you can hire Stogey as your technical director
