The problem is that Caleb Porter is the worst combination of vain and cowardly. He figured there would be a better opportunity to save face if he went halfway in. The 1-0 loss and being run off the field was better in his mind than a 4-0 loss or what have you. He also has been exposed as having little confidence in his own abilities to develop players or impart his messages to his players. If he had that confidence or ability we would have seen something more than Santos out there attempting to make individual magic happen.
For all the talk of Sosa, I'll just say that I can see a pretty big improvement in the small sample size of Maloney's PT, than in the realtively much larger pool of PT Sosa has gotten.
Show me where Sosa has gotten two 90 minute games in a row? That's the point. Young players need games to improve. Sosa has 400 minutes this year. Maloney has gotten half that in 2 games.
I think too many people are overlooking the genius of Porter. He held back this game so we could be ready to claim the Hell is Real Cup. It really is the only hardware left which matters and is still obtainable.... #TrophiesMatter
He better win Sunday and he should have rested Santos by not playing him till much later in the gm i agree with Hang 100%
At the very least we should get a replica billboard or tifo that the losing team's away supporters have to stare at for the entire 90 minutes.
Some hashtag (hell, ANY hashtag) would be significantly more interesting, valuable, or more readily cherished than the Trillium Cup.
It's a bronze version of this guy on top of a nice wooden base: and the winning players get a little patch on their jersey during next year's matches:
Unconfirmed sources are telling me the Nordecke MOTM belt is hanging out in a closet somewhere with the V-Army scarf I gave to Jason Garey.
