Seems like well into gut check time for haji my beer were criticisms of him as a youth player as well, right?
And he's moved to a club whose coach, former Ireland stalwart Mick McCarthy, is highly respected in the game and has never had a problem with giving good young players starts. "If you're good enough, you're old enough" is his motto.

There’s a reddit site that compiles less than legit streams if you want to look for them. This is not an endorsement of that, just saying it exists. Sandhausen is not a fun team to watch. They are a very run fast kick the ball hard team and Wright seems like a poor fit.
Stream is good, soccer is not. http://www.soccerjumbotv2.me/ch-2.html PS: Wright is #25, playing SS/RCAM in a 3-4-2-1.
Wow. Was he that poor in the first half? I'm sorry, but I think Schalke ********ed up picking this as his loan destination.
Yep, as soon as I posted the link, they announced the sub for the second half. You guys didn't miss anything, I think he only touched the ball once while he was there.
Maybe I’m biased but he wasn’t worse than anybody else. The entirety of the offense seemed to be blasting the ball in the air to their forwards and it worked horribly. Just a dismal game plan.
Have you watched him play? I haven't, but the impression I get is he's not winning anyone over with his effort. Maybe this isn't on Schalke's poor decision making.
Yes, and while he hasn't been great, the style of Sandhausen is so ugly. It doesn't fit his style of play at all. I'm not blaming the current situation all on Schalke, but I don't think this was the best situation for him to begin with, and he hasn't helped it.
Today he didn't touch the ball because the back and midfield were hoofing it to wherever. If he's at fault in anything, may be positioning.
Yikes. This loan is going terribly. He probably would have been better with off with Shcalke. You know, training with the first team consistently but not making any gameday squads unless there was an injury concern. Maybe they thought he wasn't even good enough for that role. I haven't seen enough of his play to make any real comments as of how he's progressed. He could actually use the March friendlies I think.
It’s Sunderland 2.0. It’s one of those nightmare situations where you have to essentially be a star in waiting and/or be lucky and/or be light on foibles and lastly have supreme self-confidence and a near total lack of insecurity to succeed. In cases like Sunderland and Sandhausen the truth is always most likely to be two distinctly different things at once: Due to the situation it will be nearly impossible to succeed and due to the players foibles it will be very difficult to ascertain how much fault belongs to the player and his potential lack of mental toughness and resiliency and how much belongs with the club and it’s tactics being a steaming pile of dog mess.
Situations like his is one thing Klinsman was good at. He'd call in players in these situations to give them a boost, take a look and maybe give them some advice. Helped Bobby Wood a lot. Getting him with some friendly faces might do wonders.
