The level of football in Guatemala has regressed heavily in the past decade.

I honestly think that's the primary reason why the big clubs, Rojos and Cremas, have stop dominating the league and now the small clubs seem to have "improved ".

The domestic players in our league are not as good as before, so it's hard to find decent domestic talent.

Before, Rojos & Cremas would buy up all the decent players in the league and would DOMINATE. But now the "best players" are hardly any good and this has "leveled the playing field"

    What do you guys think?

    Corruption.

Need to start developing to export and stop importing these washed-up ass local "legends".

Luckily Honduran teams are BROKE so they can't afford the Felipe Baloys and Blas Perez's of the world and HAVE TO rely on canteras and homegrown players instead to mitigate club expenses.

But at least Honduras has been able to grow players to be successful abroad. They understand that to make money they have to be able to open doors.

Guatemala doesn't think long term plan, they're more about the money in hand TODAY.

I actually barely saw this days ago. It came up on my YT recommendations.

    What a coincidence.

If you still want to know, he's playing in the second division for Comunicaciones B team. Which have been dominating that league tbf. In the Copa they manage to eliminate heavy hitters like Guastatoya and Comunicaciones main team. I feel a lot of their players will leave soon though, since most of them are good enough for the main liga.

Traen varios buenos. Steven Robles automatically became Cremas A best player the minute he went up. Ahi hay varios con nivel de Liga Nacional.

Guate now obligated to win in order to go to the next round, a tie won’t break it because Curaçao score on more goal than you guys.

    Hope you make it.

Big CONCACAF WC Qualifying games coming up. Curacao v Guatemala for 1st place. Cuba in a must win vs St Vincent. St Kitts can go anywhere from 5 to 7 pts up with a game against TnT. Puerto Rico can take second with a win over Guyana. Then Suriname v Canada with 1st on the line.

Tough break for Guatemala, eliminated because they only beat Cuba 1-0 while Curacao beat Cuba 2-1

    Next round:
    Haiti v Canada
    Panama v Curacao
St. Kitts and Nevis v El Salvador

Rumors that Jorge Luis Pinto is in talks to be the new Head Coach for Guatemala.

Best of luck if true he is a locker room cancer and players tend to hate him.

I haven't heard of this rumour.

Luis Fernando Tena from Mexico is the one I keep hearing about.

We now have new Umbro kits, no more WCQ but we have Gold Cup preliminary matches starting July 3rd vs Guyana.

    These are much nicer.

Uruguayan-Guatemalan Mateo Aramburu is our Gold Cup reinforcement

He's a striker for German club Schalke 04 II, Schalke's reserve team.

He has been included in the roster due to his current good form scoring goals before the season ended.
