So what's the deal with Juan Jose Castillo being looked at by Municipal? I'd rather him go somewhere else than Municipal. Another good player that goes to waste in Guate.

I agree, Castillo is going to be another bench warmer with los flojos, i would of rather him going back with Cremas, at least he got playing time.

In the first official match of the Guatemala women's NT since 1/14/2012, Guatemala beat Panama 3-2 with 2 goals by Kimberly Albeño in her NT debut and one by Ana Lucía Martínez, her fifth in 17 matches. Guatemala lined up as follows:

    ---------------Lemus
    K.deLeon-Barrios-C.Monterroso(c)-Rivera
    ----------Ramos----Espino(C.López 2T)
    Martínez---------------------V.López
    -------M.Monterroso-Albeño

Jasmine Espino, Vilma López, Albeño, and Katy Díaz made their NT debut. Guatemala dominated ball possesion on the 1st half and took a 3-0 lead by the beginning of the 2nd half but defensive errors allowed Panama to give a scare within the last 15 minutes. I was not expecting Guate to win based on last year's U20 match from which many players saw action today for both teams, so props to the team for holding on to the result. Next game vs Honduras on Sunday morning.

    Final score Monterrey 3 - Xelaju 1

Not surprised, Xelaju hasn't been looking as top notch as they had looked last season. Not taking anything away from Monterrey, but had Xelaju been playing as well as they had been it'd have been a much closer game IMO

Somehow Cabrera, Flores and Pando's sanction FOR LIFE has been lifted by the CDAG after some hearings. According to Pres Jimenez the Fed was never told of any hearings and doesnt know how the sanction is lifted if it was put in place by the Fed. Sounds like alot of BS to me in the CDAG.

Also, he's saying that Guate could play Holland. Another a$$ raping after Spain is done with us LOL.

Para mi que la CDAG se esta lavando las manos y al mismo tiempo tentando a que lleguen a jugar para que la FIFA de una vez suspenda a Guate y el futbol se siga hundiendo.

Guate WNT 6-2 Honduras, FT. 4 goals by María Monterroso and 2 by Vilma López. They will play a semifinal vs (likely) Nicaragua on Wednesday.

It really sucks that these games haven't been streamed much or even highlights.

That's what I think too. CDAG is trying to get Fedefut suspended so that some new blood could get in there.

    According to FIFA Rules:

In addition, FIFA will not recognize the decision by CDAG:

Monterrey 1-1 Xelajú MC, FT, 4-2 agg. Superchivos eliminated but died more than honorably, becoming first Guatemalan club to draw in Mexican soil since Suchitepéquez vs Tigres UANL in 1983.

Props to los Superchivos. The difference in budgets for a Guatemalan 1st division clubs and a Mexican 1st division clubs is staggering. Xelaju showed that chapin talent is undervalued.

More like Mexican football is overvalued... but that's my stinky opinion. The difference in budget as you note is in fact staggering; Monterrey monthly payroll is something like $2,500,000 vs $88,000 for Xela.

It goes to show that there you can make something out of nothing and that Guate does have good players. Just wish our NT could show that too.

Guate WNT 5-3 Panama, FT. Bronze medal for the ladies. They can score, they just couldn't do it when most needed. On the positive side, María Monterroso has now scored 12 goals in 19 senior caps, at age 19.

I'm surprised they haven't thought about brining El Pin back out of retirement for the next season.

"Por otro lado, Bryan habló sobre el partido de la Selección Azul y Blanco contra su similar de Argentina. No se mostró al 100% conforme con la convocatoria del técnico que “deberá buscar concretar cosas importantes”, agregó.
“Creo que se convoca a los mejores que tiene Guatemala, se le fueron algunos nombres, con todo respeto pero esperamos que nos traigan buenos resultados” concluyó el máximo representante de la entidad del deporte en el país. "

Even Bryan Jimenez knows Monzon picked some old crappy players. LOL

I'm pretty sure Bryan Jimenez was talking about calling up the U-17 players since it seems that Fedefut is jealous of Tono Garcia and Achik', I'm actually really surprised they were called up.

Either way, it's extremely unprofessional for a head of a Confederation to criticize their head coach in the media. Jimenez is a moron, he's the one that hired Monzon, so coming out and speaking against him makes himself seem even less competent to choose quality head coaches. This guy Jimenez never seems to amaze me with his incompetence.
