Last time we played them in Kansas City. Will be interesting to see if US Soccer continues to look for stadiums in the 40-50k range like they did vs SVG.
IIRC, Guatemalan fans show up pretty well. I wish US Soccer would have announced the venue and started selling tickets before they even advanced to this round, like they did for the St. Louis match. Would have given American fans a head start. My vote is Columbus for this one.
Looks like US soccer has decided to go cold and small. Back to Columbus in March. http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/201...umbus-against-guatemala-in-march?sf15774509=1 Hate to say it but I might have to miss this one. Of course I say that all the time.
For anybody coming from the DC area, Southwest has a round trip option for $120 leaving the 29th and coming back the 30th. Seems like a pretty cheap route, so I can't imagine a heavy change in price if you add a day or two.
US soccer probably busy with their revamp of the supporters club. So much mystery. Lol. Plus confed tickets.
My guess is we get info after the COPA tickets on feb 2nd. But it is kind getting late in the game, would love some details. Should be a great atmosphere.
Where is everyone staying for this one? And any advice on stuff to do in columbus? I am getting in early early Monday morning.
Honestly I've been to Columbus for like four games. There's not alot to do there that is not game related. The German village is kind of cool once. The Arts district is okay for an hour. OSU is a relatively nice campus. But unless you're there for several days just go to the pregame party and tailgate.
If you're into craft beer, it's becoming an exploding industry here. Unfortunately, most are usually closed on Mondays, but there are still some worth hitting. If anyone is interested, I can share details on here of the best ones to hit.
That is the plan, but that won't be happening at 7am Monday morning when I get into columbus. Anyone else planning on going?
I for one will be arriving the Monday morning, leaving the crack of dawn Wednesday morning. I have decided to stay at the Days Inn across the street from the stadium, which makes sense in my view because once the night before party starts I am close by to it and the game, no need for cabs.
ANNOUNCEMENT: AO tickets for #USMNT vs Guatemala in Columbus are on sale on Monday. Time: TBD. Full details Monday. pic.twitter.com/JwimygeJMr— AO (@AmericanOutlaws) February 5, 2016 Looks like AO tix go on sale sometime today $60 for members/ $63 for non members.
Got mine today, same price for the AO section as it was for the last WCQ in Columbus. It acutally cheaper than it was for the WCQ in St. Louis last November.
Ticketmaster link: http://www.ticketmaster.com/us-nati...rtistid=821723&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=11 Various pre-sales throughout the week with the general sale starting Friday. Have everything else booked for this trip, just need the tickets to make it official.
Yeah hence my slight annoyance. Used to be we were getting tickets in the $30-40 range. Now it's 50-70$. And concacaf doing 100$
so ... I've purchased my three tickets through AO, and there's that bit about how they don't post them anymore, you just have to print them off. ok then. but then, under FAQ, with regard to how to do it, they say "You can print (and re-print) tickets instantly from U.S. Soccer account." er ... what? when I go to the USSF site, I see no indication of where or how I can 'log in' to said account. i'm technologically retarded, and no mistake; but I know that's not a complete sentence.
there is no link in the email (which is part of what seemed odd). I have gone to ticketmaster and logged in under my account, and i'm seeing my order for Copa America tickets in Chicago ... but no sign of the Guatemala game. odd. I've got my confirmation number, and all, so i'm sure there'll be no problem in the end. if it still comes up goofy tomorrow, i'll contact them. thanks, by the way.
