Man what a great game from him. He's been awesome since that half time sub vs Brugge, really stepped up his game.
Zidane did not ask Courtois to go up for match-winning corner 👀— GOAL News (@GoalNews) December 17, 2019

I'm always gonna rag on him, and you gotta admit he's goofy af. But his potential as a goal scoring threat is real. Reminds me of 90's GKs.
The goalkeeper is the least cool position on the field. Let's be honest, when kids get together after school, the most useless guy gets stuck in goal. You need to be an incredibly cold badass to make this position an admirable one.
My childhood was full of characters like Jorge Campos (Mex), Chilavert (Par), Higuita (Col) and others. Iker making those CL final saves with his feet was q throwback. I thought they were all stars, honestly the Neuers are boring in comparison.
Another clean sheet for him, so glad that he's risen above the criticism (some of it justified). He's proving to the best starting GK for us in the long-term.
He started shining once the defense stopped being chaotic and leaking chances left and right, we still see an occasional ******** up by Varane or Ramos but Tibo manages to save most of them.

Remarkable
In all honesty, the whole team is defending better than usual. Yes, he is doing very well at the moment, but Iker was our best GK in the last 20 years or so and he was never able to even be close to those stats. The whole team deserve credit for those figures.
I agree, yes it’s a team game but at the time TC was ridiculed for letting goals in and being “not the kind of keeper we needed” and so on, there was little discussion then of it being a team game, so, he cannot be blamed solely when things are going badly and deserve no praise at all for being part of the team who have all raised their game when things are going well, IMO, he has raised his game immensely , personally I think a big part of that has to do with Areola’s performances as well, who has not been terrible either , he was forced to step up as our number one keeper and he has , getting back to something like his best when he was at AM, He was signed to be our long term keeper for the future so I for one am happy to see him at this great level, long long may it continue, if it does, one less cog in the team to worry about for awhile
We've been through this like a 100 times already. Navas is gone, Tibo is here, that's all that matters now.
I’ll be able to answer that at the end of the season, right this minute he is doing just as well and definitely good enough for this team, consistency, as with all good players, will be the key, he was very good at AM, if he can bring that form long term then yes, let’s wait and see
Lol, hilarious, a random "first 18 games" record and we're gonna be dismissing Saint Iker and King Keylor and making Garcia Remon and Buyo into GOATs all to make it seem like low shots down the middle aren't Courtois' kryptonite and like he didn't have a bad start to the season despite the fact he gave an interview admitting so. Then you also have to consider these days the team is playing for the "0-0" but back in the Ronaldo days we would regularly see the 3-1, 4-2 scoreline when the defense would just stop trying at the end of games. I'd love to see the records for goal scored after the first 18 games for players with transfer fees >100ME.
Except the context of the discussion is putting Courtois in essentially a "top 5" list that goes back to Araquistain in 1960 but when a certified legend is brought into the discussion suddenly its immaterial because he's not a current member of the team and he's given the living in the past treatment.
It's a MisterChip tweet. His job is to put together stats nobody cares about. Most left footed passes from a defensive midfielder in the 60th minute at negative wind, wearing a red kit. That's what this guy spends his time with. No reason to write and entire short novel about it.
