Despite playing for the US on Wed, Garza went 90 for Xolos on Fri in a 1-1 draw with Chivas.

On Chivas' goal, Garza tried to play Omar Bravo offside, but one of Xolos' center backs kept him on. Probably should've done a better job of staying close to him.

Garza scored in the first half in today's game vs. Atlas.

And the next piece of Garza news is that he's gone! To Atlas:

According to Ives, it's a one-year loan deal:

I don't think I like this... Any chance this means Joe Corona, or Requejo will take his spot, or are they not good enough?

Matosas is the new DT at Atlas, I'm assuming he wanted Garza, so this could still be good for him.

Honestly this could be the best case scenario. Garza starting at Atlas, Castillo starting at Monterray, and Requejo starting at Tijuana. Three American starting LB's in Liga MX.

Four, if Bornstein is still starting at Querétaro.

Hmm ... Gabe Farfan has gotten some time with Chiapas, and Michael Orozco and Ventura Alvarado are both versatile enough to play out wide. Would it be greedy to ask for seven? ;)

    Insanity!!!!!!

It's actually called the Mercado de Piernas....or "Market of Legs".

MLS deserves all the stick it gets for its weird rules, but Mexico's quirks are underrated.

no, it's just called a draft because "Regimen de transferencias" doesn't sound as cool, it is basically a transfer deadline day for the local market, the club owners just rent an hotel in Cancun, have some fun playing golf and shit and exchange players.

Garza was an unused sub this weekend as Atlas fell 3-0 at home to Monterrey.

    Oh Garza.

He's starting for Atlas in CopaMx tonight, game is 1-1. On the opposing goal, he was toasted twice on the dribble then failed to retreat defensively, thus allowing an opponent to score from a wide open header.
