If you're limiting to just those 2, then probably Tony. But strong shout out to Frank McLintock who was a supreme captain in the early 70's, just before I hooked up. And if you go back to the 30's-50's, there were long-serving captains like Alex James, Eddie Hapgood & Joe Mercer who were probably worth a shout too.
I would have loved to love McLintock as a captain, NB, but as you say, he'd departed by the time we were living in England. Vieira left too, and.pissed me off with how he went about it. Adams stayed at the Arsenal his entire career and that seals it for me.
