I believe Köln's #2 and #3 keepers are injured at the moment.

The club does seem to have a good impression of him if he served as the impromptu #4 ahead of all the other guys on the books with the reserve and U19 teams, though.

In fact, there's a current Germany youth international, Jan-Christoph Bartels, who is half a year older than Scott but is behind him, only with Cologne U19s. The other reserve/U19 guys don't seem to have much of a resume, but it should be noted Scott is beating out someone who was recently capped with Germany U18s.

Started the 2nd half in a 1st team friendly:

    DIE STATISTIK ZUM SPIEL:
    1. FC Köln: Kessler (46. Scott) – Olkowski, Maroh, Heintz – Bittencourt (46. Zoller), Höger, Jojic, Handwerker – Rudnevs, Cordoba, Guirassy (46. Clemens)

    Tore: 1:0 Löffelsend (7.), 1:1 Guirassy (33.), 2:1 Löffelsend (43.), 2:2 Rudnevs (56.), Cordoba 2:3 (57.), 2:4 Olkowski (59.), 2:5 Rudnevs (62.), 2:6 Cordoba (73.), Rudnevs 2:7 (77.)

    Zuschauer: 2.000

I *think* he kept a clean sheet in his half as part of a 7-2 win.

Koln are last place in the Bundesliga after 5 games, they have 0 points, by far the worst goal differential.

I think them getting relegated would be really good for Scott. The Koln starting keeper is very good, and likely would leave, if they dropped down to the second division. If not, Scott is just waiting until he leaves to get a real chance.

If they go down and Horn leaves, they have a quintessential back up keeper who rarely plays and two youngsters, unless they bring in another keeper, so that should give Scott a chance to grab the starting spot in a year.

Any recent news about Brady? I’m catching up on “The TopDrawerSoccer Show” podcast and Daryl and Will named him their “Prospect of the Week” in their second episode.

He hasn’t played since that 6-0 loss. FC Koeln II ate bottom of their league.

Scott has been mostly riding the bench for the reserve team since mid September, but on Saturday he started for the U19s and kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.

Hopefully the playing time flows from here. I'd also hope that his German is coming along well. It can't be easy to do his job well with a significant language barrier.

played today for Koln II in a 2-2 draw. When he plays in the U19 he's at 100% clean sheet, 2/2.

But for the reserves, he has conceded 15 goals in 5 games, that's an average of 3 goals per game with 0 clean sheets.

started for Koln U19 today in a 3-3 draw, his 1st U19 game where he didn't keep a clean sheet. Now is at 3 goals conceded in 3 U19 games, averaging a goal against per game.

looks like he started today because Bartels had a red card suspension.

one of 4 keepers at the club.

although likely to be in Koln II with Bartels. While the 1st team keepers are Horn and Kessler.

Is Horn likely to stay? Seems like too good of a keeper to play in the 2. Liga.

he's staying and not long ago extended until 2023. Thing is guys like him and Hector outside of being loyal to Koln seem to believe promotion is possible.

He played 90 in a 2-1 loss with the reserves on the 4th. Didn't play for two games and then played again on Saturday for the reserves and kept a clean sheet.

Not a massive surprise, but I'm hearing that Scott made the U20 qualifying roster. Full roster might drop tomorrow..?

The tournament is in November. It'll be a cold, cold day in hell when the USSF releases a NT roster two whole months in advance.

It's possible that the USSF has to submit a large provisional roster to CONCACAF right now. If so, it's unlikely to be made public based on years past. I think once it accidentally leaked.
