Clinton voters stuck I VOTED stickers on Susan B. Anthony’s grave. Trump voters to follow suit by going to Lincoln’s, and rolling him over.— After Midnight (@midnight) November 8, 2016
Actually Lincoln would be identified as a fervent and proud white supremacist today. http://atlantablackstar.com/2015/05...sts-quotes-abraham-lincoln-said-black-people/
Actually no way in hell Lincoln would've said that stupid shit today. His opinions would've evolved along with society's.

There's no way to be certain about that. But from what we do know, yes, Lincoln and his opinions at his time of life would've likely very much approved of Trump and his supporters' racism. Undoubtedly, but I don't necessarily love the idea that Lincoln was some kind of champion for non-racist attitudes. According to him, even his non-racist policies were driven moreso by outside factors rather than a moral compunction against it.
What we DO know is that virtually EVERY white person held those opinions about racial differences in that era, and thus Lincoln was either a man of his time in that regard or was being a smart politician and saying what people were willing to hear. To think that a person who was one of the smartest and most progressive of his day wouldn't be of a similar mindset relatively speaking today is asinine. But you're right, there's no way to be certain, yet I know which side I'd lay my money on....

Dear Ms. Lusigan: If you want to know about smears, make the general election and let Fox get at you. Then you'll learn what real smears are all about. Also, if accusing the other side of conducting smears, you probably should refrain from doing so yourself, and not be dog-whistling "corporate."
