What a great story. Brought a tear to my eye. I already knew some of the story, but the small details really bring it home.
Great find. There are a lot more players like him that fall through the cracks; they just need a chance. We need to find them and I'll bet most would want to play for the USA, just like Herculez.
Herculez is a truly amazing guy. Fitting that he's my eleven year-old son's favorite player after watching him play with the Galaxy a few years ago.

I realize this is borderline USA Men (as opposed to N&A) material, but I think it's an interesting reflection on this guy's humility and psychology. He doesn't strike me as anything other than calm, cool, and collected.
