Anyone heading out to Westfield, IN this weekend for the Grand Park Cup? Seem to be a lot of Illinois teams in the tournament.

On the girls side I see SASA and a GLSA team.

Most every strong team is playing this weekend in a Chicago tournament. Chicago Cup, Chicago Dev showcase, Puma Cup, Palatine Showcase etc. GLSA seems to be the exception.

Having said that, Westfield is fun in the spring

It is and it is a wonderful facility with good food and more.

I think Chicago Cup looks good.

We play Illinois Fire (08) girls Sunday and it looks like GLSA is in our bracket too.

Grand Park was a great tournament. Not sure if anyone has been to that complex but it is absolutely first class. The grass fields are incredible. Our team went 2-1 eventually getting boat raced by Illinois Fire FC 08G. Very strong team girls were double the size of ours.

It is a great facility! We've been there once and it a low bracket but despite that we had a great time.

Chicago Cup was pretty good. SC Wave's 2005 team is incredible! There is not an 05 girls team in Illinois that would stand a chance against them.

We went 0-2-1 but likely should have been 1-1-1. Top flight and huge improvement from last year so we are all very happy. With 4 new players on the team and a weekend of just adjusting, I am confident we'd beat every team we would play if we were to get another shot down the road.

We had a rough Sunday 1) there were 3 separate lightning haults before our game even started 2) Girls were soaked, cold and tired 3) went from pristine grass to turf for the semi final game. Touches were awful, weighting of the passes was awful.

Illinois FC adjusted to the conditions and field much better than we did. We wouldnt of beaten them if it were sunny and on grass but the girls just didn't compete.
