Potter is truely a wizard. He has taken a 4th division team in northern sweden to top division and now europa league in just few years. Ostersund is a small town with no football roots at all. Only 42 years of age he should be the next English coach.
Yeah, he's done a great job, has to be said. I wonder how long they can keep hold of him? I really should watch some of there games on tv since I live in Sweden but unfortunately watching Halmstads a few times put me off Allsvenskan.
I think he is gone soon. England has had some awful coaches last few years. This might be the guy they need.
English coach s are generally awful tbh Not sure we will see an English guy be a top manager in the world for a long time now
You never know. Some kind of Englishmen computer, football nerd may one day become a real life FIFA manager genius.
Potter does have some history with the FA when he was called up to the U21s just one time. Hopefully that's what it takes to be on their books. I'll be rooting for Ostersunds now for success in the Europa League.
Swedish people wants to build a statue of graham potter. Meanwhile no english clubs wants him https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...n-british-boss-who-has-taken-sweden-by-storm/
Potter is sensational. Ostersund is beating bilbao and undefeated in europe league. I mean this is a team with 40k population in the very north in sweden.
So close to beating Bilbao. Still in a strong position in the group. Great story and it's not as if they are playing a defensive style against teams with more resources. It's very pleasing on the eye to watch.
Graham Potter takes Östersunds to Bilbao tonight. One of only two Englishmen managing in Europe this season. https://t.co/5KTzmVzZYI— Simon Hughes (@Simon_Hughes__) November 2, 2017
“The players we’ve signed are the ones English football have discarded, there are hundreds of thousands of boys out there with the talent but because of the numbers and the opportunities at first team level, they can’t get the games. At the moment, we have Jamie [Hopcutt] and Curtis [Edwards], lads who have shown promise as youngsters but have been willing to try something different by developing with us by getting the game time they really need." “The challenge for coaches is a bit like with the English players. There are only so many jobs out there. I don’t think it’s fair to say the standard of English coaching is bad. It’s more about pathway: how you can get a break and then progress from there. Even at the lowest levels there is impatience now, so you need a bit of luck in terms of the owner or chairman that you work with." Graham knows.
Great to see him getting the publicity. Time for serious interest now. So much to absorb & learn from.Been a great storyThe English managerial success story shunned by the Premier League https://t.co/L1smUK9l7T— Grant (@Grantnffc1) November 8, 2017
Östersund plays Arsenal on the 15th. If they can advance then that will give Potter a ton of recognition.
