He has been discussed many times since the WC, and the conclusion is the same - he was one of the best, no matter what happened. The book should be an interesting read though. I hope he didn't use it as a way to sound off on everything he perceives as wrong.
Absolutely fascinating stuff from the BBC on Graham Poll, posted on YouTube. This is Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p0dVrR9zwM Parts 2-5 are posted by the same user and easy to find.
Thanks for the link! That whole thing was VERY interesting indeed. It just makes me want to shoot for the highest levels even more, but makes me a little anxious about all the abuse that you can take.
Wow, retiring after 1500+ games. I'm about to do my 100th middle in two weeks (started in Fall 2003) and thought that might be a personal milestone. Very interesting and moving documentary. I have to admit I was/am a Pollie fan.
That's a great series of clips! Gives alot of insight into the pressures of reffing at the highest levels, and he can still relate to us "little people"
I too like Graham, mistakes be damned. He was a top notch ref with a top notch personality. It's too bad he and the FA don't get along so well now. I figured he might be pegged for high level administration, but now I'm not so sure.
Me too... http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/51YK7N0G23L._SS500_.jpg Oh wait... that's Graham with no 'S'. Happy Friday!
