I think he is just shit in general. I can remeber two crucial matches when he really scewed West Ham. In a FA cup replay vs Chelsea, he helped Hasselbaink take a quick free kick. Years later he screwed Celsea in a similar fashion and said they shouldn't be upset because he had had ********ed up that FA cup replay in their favor years earlier. Then in the playoff final vs Palace he admitted to a penalty but said he didn't call it because West Ham players didn't protest enough.

 

Where's the option for "Is a complete tool"?

 

Wasn't he in charge in the FA Cup final in '94, where he awarded United 2 penalties against us.

I'm pretty sure he was the twit in charge, both decisions being...er...'shady'.

 

You lot are being a bit harsh. He is England's best referee after all.

Poll must be the most overrated ref in the Prem. I've always thought he must have licked a few backsides at the F.A to get where he is. Plus he's a smug git. He's one of those who wants the limelight.

I remember after the debacle he caused at the World Cup he gave an interview afterwards from home. He was talking about how it had caused so many problems for him and his family etc etc and was basically full of self-pity. The guys a tw@t. Jeff Winter doesn't like the guy and he's another tw@t.
