Sorry guys I know this is a little off topic but I can't start a new thread ... we've booked tickets to the Gold Cup final, will that definitely sellout? Also will it be segregated/divided depending on who plays, or safe to root for either team no matter where our tickets are and who plays? Also I've never been to football at the Rose Bowl before, is there anything to do in the area pre/post game e.g. bars/pubs (we're travelling so don't have a grill or anything for tailgating). Again apologies for going off topic, and hope to see your team in the final (whoever that may be!)!
Are people guessing the numbers for sunday at RFK? If so, I don't want to ruin it by posting the sales so far but here's a short article that discusses the ticket sales as of Weds afternoon. http://dc.sbnation.com/2011/6/16/2227535/concacf-gold-cup-2011-usa-jamaica-tickets Is anyone here going? I can't wait! I'll be in sec 205, hopefully those will be decent seats.
section 205 are good seats.. you will be across the field from the AOs also, according to latest reports, only 1,000 tickets left. sell out expected, should be over 47k in attendance. thing is, most of htat is gonna be for the el salvador game... will be interesting to see how many will be in for the USA game
Most are saying the majority of the lower bowl will be USA fans and the Upper Bowl will be in El Salvadorean Blue.
Two things caught my eyes: Upper bowl was 99% blue Lower bowl was 50% red. At minute 20 of the USA game, the stadium was nowhere near full. El Salvador game? Absolutely packed. Sort of sad that in our nation's capitol, team USA is the B-ticket.
Soccer is like Religion in El Salvdor. Here in the USA... ... not so much. I liked the turn out for the match though. The USA fans were loud and enthusiastic. Sure it was not the droves of fans you saw in Blue but it was a pretty good turn out for a USA match.
Mind you this was going to be the first time El salvador would have ever qualified to a Semi final so their fans decided to come out and support there's something like 200,000 Salvadoreans living in the Washington DC. The US being second fiddle in this country is the same story its always been get used to it a A US fan. I'm going to the Rose bowl and expect to be absolutely outnumbered. i can get into a whole tirade about why this is the case and what can be done to improve it but that's for another thread.
