Chong definitely needs to go on tour with the senior team this coming summer and needs to be given a close look by Mourinho. He played today again with the U23s vs Everton and he distinguished himself, scoring a goal and being a pest in general on the right. The exposure, if nothing else, will be good for him. A win-win either the way I see it, but I'd definitely give him the opportunity.
Another 15 year old signed from Slovakia. No idea who he is. https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...news/man-utd-transfer-news-svidersky-14583198 Also signed is Polish U16 captain Lukasz Bejger. We are monitoring an 18 year old for Partizan Belgrade Markovic. I like our eccentric signings. Going beyond UK and central Europe.

The case for Joe Riley. www.mufclatest.com/joe-rileys-time-is-now-jose-mourinho-should-be-looking-to-blood-him-into-the-team-now A guy who can play effectively in either FB positions, would love him to potentially get a look before the end of the season (now that the youth season is over). If not this season, he's a young player I would like to come on tour, so Jose hopefully can have an idea whether he's worth keeping around or not. Especially with our situation at FB being what it is, I believe he absolutely could make it. Just needs a break...
If we were to sell Young I could see him playing a role as back up. He won't play if Young is here and we won't sell Young. I should think he needs at minimum two seasons. One on loan and one training with the first team.
From where I stand, Riley is one of the main candidates to go out on loan next season. I still would like to see him called up for our last game of the season (especially if we have 2nd place wrapped up) and also wouldn't mind see him go with the team in preseason tour as well. He's really not that far away in my estimation, having already had successful first team experience with Van Gaal. He's another guy who apparently just needs some type of opportunity to show what he's capable of.
Disappointing end of the season for the U18s, who were beaten 3-0 by Chelsea. The performance was not as bad as the score suggests: as a matter of fact, United really had the better of the proceedings in the first half. The team as a whole appear to get tired in the 2nd half and Chelsea really asserted their dominance then. Missing some important players did not help matters either. Still though, that team has had a very good season overall. The same can not be said for the U23s unfortunately.

James Garner captains England U17. Ethan Laird called up too. We finally have a gem in our academy in midfield. so far between Puigmal and Traore and Garner, there is potential. Add to that list Levitt who I was impressed with but only with a couple of appearances.

Joe Riley transfers to Bradford City Thankyou @ManUtd ❤️ pic.twitter.com/a1qGOYn4so— Joe Riley (@joeriley49) May 25, 2018 Maybe he didn't step it up in the U-23s but I had hoped he would get some chances with the first team at some point this season. His only games with the first team came under LVG.

Indy Boonen has apparently rejected a new contract with the club to sign with Belgian side Ostende. It's a pity to see him go, because he's a talented kid but the odds of him making it into the first team were always long. He may have an opportunity to play and make a name for himself back home.
Some updates on the youth team: We signed a Czech keeper. I have no clue about him. We chased a Nantes youngster that ended up signing for Dortmund, Pogba like midfielder. We have our eyes on a Barca 16 year old, trying to sign him, he plays in midfield and known for dictating play.
Nico Gonzalez is La Masia/Barca youngster we are reportedly on the verge of signing. www.sportwitness.co.uk/spaniard-verge-signing-man-united-kept-squad-father-helping-transfer/ Would be another highly touted young Spaniard at the Academy, alongside Puigmal.
I've lost the excitement of the club signing and having talented youngsters. With Mourihno at the helm the chances of any of them making a breakthrough to the first team is a borderline 3%. These youngsters will have to be scoring hat-tricks every match to have a great chance
It'd be genuinely awesome if we were to take all of these youngsters on tour (and for them to get a chance at one point or another). Eventhough the experience alone for them will be absolutely worth it.
The Sanchez acquisition continues to fcuk us. Hard to move forward with an expensive piece of trash in the team. We get rid of Rooney and then immediately seek out another albatross. ********ing bullshit ass club.
You are killing the dude for a bad 6 months of football in a system under Jose. His last decade has been pretty impressive. Let's see how this season plays out.
