Good move for him. He needs games. Regarding AP, next summer is make or break for him at United. If he's loaned out again, his time here is obviously done. Given his potential and Mata being mostly useless in our system, I'd prefer AP get minutes first next year.
This is exactly what Tuanzebe needed and I expect him to kill it actually. And give Jose a big call to make this summer (with Smalling or perhaps Rojo?). He'll be teammates with JT though (lol)........ Not too worried about that truthfully because Tuanzebe has been universally praised for his maturity, but if he can pick up things from him (and Steve Bruce as well) about the game itself and being a top CB, it could even be a good thing.
Good to see another young player in Mitchell making the most of his opportunity. Hopefully Tuanzebe is the next to follow. www.pickpremierleague.com/united-youngsters-loan-hoping-prove-worthy-first-team-action-old-trafford/
Young and exciting team for the U23s to face Tottenham. JP, Riley, Warren, Williams, O'Connor, Hamilton, Barlow, Chong, Gomes, Boonen, Bohui Subs: O'Hara, Olosunde, Buffonge, Kehinde, Burkart.
With Wilson and Mitchell having gone out on loan (plus injuries to others), it opened a couple of regular spots on that team. Our youth setup is doing rather well in bringing up the most talented U18 kids to the U23 setup every once in a while. But there are kids in the current setup that can not be neglected either whenever some new sensation pops up. It's a delicate balance, that I believe they're doing well with. Still no goals at HT: Chong up the wing and O'Connor at the back are the easy standouts for me so far.
The U23 table inherently means nothing, but being dead last as United are currently after going down to Spurs, is not ok. Chong, by far the shining light today, with mentions going to O'Connor and Hamilton in midfield. Wonder if United can make Joyce an offer he can't refuse to bring him back from Australia.
Chong highlights against Spurs. I believe it was his debut for the U23s. Either way the kid looks good. Tahith Chong vs. Tottenham. #MUFC pic.twitter.com/n0KdaIOYr2— Fabio (@FabioProd) January 29, 2018
He has to start training with the likes of Gribbin with the first team. We really do not have many options on that side.
United already have the RW of the future in Chong. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/man-utd-news-tahith-chong-14220341 With the recent acquisition of Sanchez, both Chong and Gribbin are perfectly placed to step up into the first team within the next couple of years and eventually make the position their own. Gribbin apparently is out again with some kind of injury and we really have to hope he can get some respite on that front, as it could hurt his growth as a player. Like Chong, he's obviously got the talent, but this constant stop-start because of an injury or another, does him no favors unfortunately. Chong, who was fantastic again yesterday, is the real deal though.
Gribbin is done, same as Mitchell when he had his injury. Chong next in line. At a big club like this you cannot afford to get injury for a long time. Lingard knock on wood other than his growing spurts and his fragile frame was never out for a long time.
We'll see. I always refer back to Steven Gerrard in those cases. As a youngster he always had injury issues and many thought it might seriously impede his senior career. Somehow, it all pretty much stopped once he reached Pool's first team and the rest is history. Don't know if Gribbin's constant injuries are due to him being fragile or perhaps due to other factors, but if he's to have any real hopes for a career with United, he needs to overcome this somehow (the sooner the better obviously). In other news, another couple of promising kids have signed their first pro contracts with United: George Tanner, a fullback and Max Dunne, CB. 18yrs old both.
Hey man. I'll have you know that Davide Petrucci is forging a career for himself in the Turkish second division.
My god! Man amongst boys. He needs minutes this season. Wow. I’m blown away. That’s not just pace, not just dribbling, it is both allayed to strength and balance and passing!
