Still 0-0 in this one, despite United, once again, being the more dominant team. End product is missing today and Garner hasn't been as sharp as he's been in previous games. Williams, playing at RB today, has been pretty good and so have Levity and to a lesser degree Galbraith as well. Fulham have just been reduced to 10 men, so let's hope the boys can take advantage and grab a winner in the final few minutes of this game. Levitt finally scores. Well deserved too after the game he's had. Great stuff from Ramazini to set him up also. Crazy end to this game, with Williams conceding a Pk and getting himself sent off in the process (for his 2nd yellow). Fulham misses the Pk though: well done from Kovar to save the win (and another clean sheet for United). FT: 1-0.
What? That wasn't what happened at the end of the game. Williams got sent off for a needless bringing down of a player in an innocuous position. The penalty was given for Abraham throwing himself to the floor under next to no pressure from Elanga.
Ramazini is still very young obviously but he's really stepped it up this season and with our obvious issues at RWF, he's someone worth keeping a close eye on (with a possible eye towards next season?). Didn't have his best game today but he came up big when it mattered. That run into the box past so many defenders, with ease, and lay the ball on a plate to Levitt, was superb. And what we want from a wide player and have been missing for so long on the right side.
https://www.skysports.com/football/...or-returns-to-training-after-cancer-treatment does anyone know how good he is? (was?)
Curious as to why he changed his last name from Dunne to Taylor, just this past February. Nice to see him come back though, hopefully having beaten the disease for good..
Mengi has signed his first pro contract with United. Congrats to him and another kid worth keeping an eye on. Still just 17, but he's been getting starts with the U23s.
Shoretire and Mejbri are a class above the rest in terms of potential for the 18s. Both of them can be top, top players.
United U23 vs Aston Villa: Kovar; Puigmal, Mengi, Bernard (c), Devine; Traore, Galbraith, McCann; McGhee, Ramazani, Elanga. Subs: Woolston, Fish, Wellens, Mejbri, Hoogewerf. Pretty cool that Hannibal Mejbri has already called up into the U23 squad. No Garner suggesting he will be involved vs Rochdale in the League Cup.
Way too many absentees today for United today added to the fact they are down to 10 men (after Bernard got his marching orders) and they're getting trounced 4-0 so far by Villa..
Mejbri has come on early in the 2nd half and has been very good. Has really influenced the game in a positive manner for United in the 2nd half. Not afraid at all to get stuck in and has a great eye for the pass. Very impressive, much better showing from United overall in the 2nd period.. 4-1 and Traore's goal was superb.
Really like the looks of Mejbri. He has ideas and an understanding of where players are/should be. Give him another year in the 18s/23s and then a loan to a lower end PL, championship or BL team. On the Chong front, I think it is far too soon to write him off, but it is clear he lacks something at the highest level (tm) that other kids we've brought up do not. I'd be interested in seeing him developed as a LB. He'd have to learn positioning and beef up his defending, but he's got the pace and his best asset is carrying the ball at pace, into space. At FB, we can afford him that. His interplay is decent, but not good. I think unless we turn him into someone who uses his physical tools first and foremost, I don't think he has a shot of even being a squaddy unless he has immense leaps in terms of his understanding of the game. I think possibly a fullback or maybe a Matuidi type role where he just hares around the pitch tackling everything that moves and exploding forward in transition.
Let's see if the U23s can rebound today vs Norwich. The XI: Grant; Puigmal, Devine, Mengi, Bernard; Garner, Galbraith, McGhee, Traore, Ramazani, Elanga. Subs: Kovar, Fish, Helm, Wellens, Hoogewerf.
Another game, and another goal for Garner. United are currently up 2-0, as Ramazini scores another one from the spot. 1177666362858180608 is not a valid tweet id
The kids advance in the EFL Trophy competition, defeating League 2 side Lincoln 1-0. Garner, who else, with the winner. He's really heeded the advice given to him in the summer while on tour to look for his opportunities and shoot more: guy's on fire so far this season. 1179130030338842626 is not a valid tweet id
Henderson has finally earned his England senior team call up, following Tom Heaton's withdrawal. Well deserved on his part. Should also increase his value should we decide to sell (which is more likely now that Dave has re upped).

The club is considering sending a few prominent youngsters on loan in January. https://www.skysports.com/football/...-players-on-january-loan-says-academy-manager
Williams has signed a new contract with the club. Would like to see him get genuine opportunities at the first team, sooner rather than later. If for no other reason to push Shaw. Still raw but there's clearly something there.
Another win for the U23s vs Swansea today (4-1). Only caught the 2nd half but great to see Laird back and looking close to his best. Let's hope he can stay fit now. Ramazini looking again today and Aliou Traore is another who is starting to show some real progress. Excellent start of the season and very much looking on track for promotion. Nice depth in the team also, with no Greenwood, Garner, Gomes, Chong or Williams.
25 - @SheffieldUnited’s Dean Henderson has kept 25 clean sheets in the league since the start of last season; more than any other goalkeeper in England's top four tiers. Should make him that much more valuable if we do decide to sell at the end of the season.
Greenwood on the scoresheet for the U23 today vs Stoke. Although he really should have 2-3 easily. 1-1 so far at the half: Gomes playing like a man possessed today, both FBs (Laird and Devine) with excellent showings also so far. #MUAcademy U23s have the lead!@_MasonGreenwood tucks away Ethan Laird's cross after just six minutes — watch the rest of the match LIVE on #MUTV: https://t.co/gph5WvdRAH pic.twitter.com/LetXm2xBgv— Manchester United (@ManUtd) October 25, 2019 Gomes with a superb (and cool) finish to put United 2-1 shortly after the restart. Chong with the cross from the left. Really hope that we can wrap up Gomes (Chong as well) to a new contract very soon. Ramazini replaces Greenwood and promptly scores. Another guy who has been on a tear this season. This team is really fun to watch for the most part and goes some ways in making up for how poor the senior team is. They have the talent obviously, but it's also evident that they're well coached as well.
