Yes, when he is injury free and in top form, but we have not seen him consistently in that shape for more than three games in a row for a long time.

He had two four game runs last year that were brilliant, one was at the start of the season and one was the lead up and inclusion of the club world cup.

He can be great for us, I just don't think he'll get the chance again

At one point in the season Bale was so garbage that every time he played the entire team dropped a level or two, he was a possession graveyard, every time he received the ball we lost it, his passing was atrocious, his first touch was heavier than LP39B, his one saving grace was his scoring but it didn’t come often enough to offset all the negative he brought.

He wasn’t the sole reason we struggled last season of course but he certainly played his part.

It’s not on him nor is he exempt from it, simple, he was as much a part of the problem as anyone else, he hasn’t proven to be able to lead this team, IMO, other than a few games, ( important games yes) he hasn’t proven to be a difference maker of any consistency, especially considering what his status is and what he’s paid

This I have a problem with. Bale was as poor as most of the rest of the team. But this crap is hyperbolic at best.

The problem was he often had to do too much on his own, we rarely got him the ball in the right areas or the ball at all.

His average touches per game and passes per game were way down last season.

These are the lost possession stats for Real Madrid last season in the league:

At this point we have to hope he has a strong preseason and some EPL club bites on it.

Bale will be given every opportunity here to start provided he’s fit. He’s still a better option than Asensio or Lucas on the RW.

Hopefully we can twist his arm, I’ve always been a supporter of his but it’s time to go. His wages are massive and there will be too much drama from his agent if he’s on the bench.

Of course you have a problem with it, you’re heavily biased towards the guy.

Everything I said about Bale is correct, and no it’s not because he had too much to do on his own, that’s pure nonsense, he wasn’t the one driving the play in the opposite half, that would be 18 year old Vinicius and Benzema ; And we weren’t giving him the ball in the right areas? Is this a joke? He was getting it mostly on the wings, the area he supposedly thrives in but he couldn’t beat anyone since his pace is a thing of the past and he never was that technical.

He was so bad he got benched by Lucas Freaking Vasquez, permanently; you can’t even say that that was due to his personal issues with the coach since Solari benched him for LV as well because he realized the team was way more cohesive with Bale out of the line up.

Bale was supposed to be the leader of this team after CR left, he sure thought he was up for the job but he’s failed miserably.

So we can't blame Bale but we can shit on Vazquez or Asensio. Makes sense.

    According to who?
Flo? Well, everyone knows that Flo is not the greatest visionary when it comes to assessing player’s talent.

Actually the problem was that he didn't play his "part". With Ronaldo gone his part was to be our "best/star" player. That's everyday for nine months and 38 league games.

And its not like when Ronaldo left Bale was given responsibilities he didn't want or was unprepared for, he had insisted on having this role or "part" for a long time.

Another problem resulting from Bale is the club has not gone after other talented players because of his nonnegotiable status in the team.

We couldn't fit James in, passed on Hazard for some time and never even seriously looked at Griezman, Dybala, Salah or anyone else who could reasonably be expected to fulfill the "part" Bale wanted and has in the team.

Part of not getting Mbappe was having too many "stars" and not enough starting positions and Bale has just been taking up space for years now.

If not Bale then who was supposed to take up the mantle CR left? He was the biggest star, the highest paid after CR so yea by all account he was the next in line.

    That was an illusion.
He is not a player of the caliber.
The face that his wages are absurd is a different story because he was overhyped from the get go

Well I’m not arguing that he was good enough or deserving enough to carry the load after CR’s departure, what I’m saying is that the responsibility he wanted and being the biggest name, he got it and failed.

Nah it was Zidanes fault we all know that. Before he came in we were going for the treble.

[Sergio Valentin]: There are no current offers on the table for Gareth Bale. Zidane is pushing for his way out of the club.

I don't like how Zidane has this unforgiving spirit about him, but that clown should shut up.

Whatever Bale has done Zidane has done infinitely more for Madrid and he has never respected him.

Heck Barnett has never respected any of our managers, talking down to them as if he's their boss. He has barely respected Florentino and has no respect for the club or fans.

For someone so flippant and disrespectful, it's laughable he demands what he himself can't give.

Oh and for your entertainment pleasure, go back and read all the posts of people the past pages saying Bale will stay, will play, etc.

    Especially the BaleFans.

They just knew he would stay. Even save Zidane after he failed the club.

    Highest of comedies lulz.

Zidane wanted Bale gone last season. He quit when Flo didn't accept. Now that he is back, he is doing everything he can to get rid of him. It has nothing to do with what bale or his agent said.
He can't force him to not train with the team as bale can sue the club, but he can not play him.

I wonder whether Bale and his agent genuinely believe he still has elite ability, or they know hes finished and are just pretending that hes still a star.

Bale is disrespectful and his agent is even worse. They are the last who should be demanding respect when they seem to only give it when everything is flying high in their favor. That bwing said, I wish we didn't have to freeze him out like this.

Zidane being faced with Cristiano leaving and Bale staying had him leave. We were set up for failure... even if dumb posters on this forum thought this was brilliant because Cristiano was our problem holding us back.

I wonder if the Zidane statement is him working around Perez and just putting things into motion, forcing the club to start negotiation for selling Bale.
