Imagine being this bitter about a trophy winning goal because of the player that scored it. As far as I know Robben never won a cup of sugar with his national team while Iker and Ramos are back to back to back Champions in the national team shirt. What does he want to make fun of? That he held out longer before he went back home again? The players know each other and it's good fun. Imagine being more bitter than Bartra, barca born and raised about it.
Seriously this CdR goal is glorified here even more than Bale’s bicycle kick goal against Liverpool which is a beauty and really worth bragging about . To each its own....
Yeah that bicycle goal was definitely better. The CdR goal was just pure speed. I have seen Wallcot and Lennon score those.
The players playing, on the bench and suspended lost their marbles so clearly they loved it. The beauty of it was that you could feel it happen and unfold. The run was so long that you felt something special was going to happen, and when the ball touched the net it was like the climax of the entire situation. Sergio Ramos' 93rd minute Header was a misplaced header that might have not even stood with VAR. But the emotions, the build up, the execution makes the whole package special. Pedja scored the literally ugliest goal. Of his career vs Juve in the CL but if you ask him, it's definitely the most special or one of the most special in his career.
Cup final, Barcelona, late game, Ronaldo in the stands. Maybe Walcott and Lennon scored a few of those on Fifa. Benzema's goal vs Karius was also special than some fourth goal vs Alaves where he turned his body, threw a dab and knocked it in the top left corner. It's about the moment.
100% amazing goal. I put it above the bicycle kick. People forget how much we had lost Barcelona in those times and how they had our number. That trophy had a lot more importance. The ones you remember are the ones that mean something. The technical part of the goal means very little. If you don't watch and enjoy football for the emotion of it then I feel bad for you. Who doesn't think Benzema owning Atletico Madrid's whole defense in their own stadium to set up Isco for the tap in isn't a amazing goal and moment? And the fact that he absolutely ended Bartra's career before it began and its a joke to this day in Spain means people love it and remember it. Long after Bale is gone from this club that goal is what I will remember of him. Watch Cristiano in the stands. Watch Zizou on the bench. These are icons and legends of the game and watch what they think of it.
Copa del Rey.. ok. If it was a la liga defining clasico or CL knockout game.. you may have a point. They loved it because it was against Barca and they were owning us.. but to compare this to a CL Final winning goal - a bicycle kick nonetheless - is preposterous. That Bale goal is as over-hyped as the player itself.
Time had soured people's impression of Bale so much that even when he had a stand out moment it's being devalued. The goal was a massive moment and this very forum lost their shit when he scored it. I think there's enough criticism to lay at his feet that we don't really need to overreach with this.
Yeah, "at this moment". That's a clear qualifier. Bale is a goner and looks more and more like the Kaka fiasco if I'd have to believe the loan rumours..
You can make a career in football a lot easier if you're quick and strong than if you're clever and technical, unless you're Messi level clever and technical, which is a 1 out of a million chance. The gu was subbed on and was boohed by the entire stadium when his name was announced. His value is as much on him as it is on the fans and the people at the club making it clear that we don't want him around. Poeple take some Pogba discomfort rumors and slash 50 mil. off his price here, if Pogba would be getting boohed at every touch we'd figure we would be getting him for free as well.
People are sick and tired of him and he should have been sold at least a year ago. At this point fans would take him leaving even for free if it means seeing him go.
Bale has a club in mind and wants to force the club's hand into selling to that club, which probably doesn't have the financial capabilities to currently pay for our asking price. The lower the transfer fee, the more he can probably get in wages. And if it's a loan, the club will probably even pay for some of the wages.
And that club is Real Madrid. Seriously, he's not moving - why would he? Zidane is playing him every game, he barely has to put in a shift and the weather is nice enough to golf year round. Couldn't ask for a better gig. I think this is part of the problem, the club will probably have to pay the player and another club just to take him. Bale holding out for a severance package, gonna take a bonus payment with him out the door. LOL.
