Either I'm blind or there is no match thread. Early goal by Reus for the lead because of a penalty. Foul was clear, probably on the line to warrant the penalty.
Lineup: Bürki Schmelzer Bender Ginter Rapha Castro Sahin Durm Dembele Reus Pulisic That defense will have me worried till the end.
Ha ha ha...so much discussion has happened in this forum why Merino the imaginary Makalele doesn't play for Dortmund...he got a chance today and proved himself in 20 mins
Merino with two bad passes that eventually ends in a goal for them. We were playing bad passes in our back before that. Sucks because Gladbach couldn't do anything with the ball themselves and they relied on dead ball situations or mistakes from us.
It's ridiculous that people are actually judging Merino in general based on ine very bad mistake. You can't just throwa player in a tough away game, expecially a youngster and expect them to play well. You build up their confidence in easier fixtures unless you have someone incredibly mentally strong. The front 3 have looked dangerous. Reus and Pulisic have pressed brilliantly. There is still a lack of cohesion. A lack of decision making and cohesion is why both Dembele and Pulisic have failed to out Reus through a couple of times. Dembele is off form.
He had to come in because there wasn't really anyone else left for the cm. Yeah, mistakes can happen and he looked decent in the few previous games he had. It's not one error and you are done but it was still a very bad mistake. Also, I don't even know why, but till their goal, the formation was somehow working. They played quite nice together going forward.
Great ball from Dembele and fantastic finish from Auba. He will break the 30 goal mark this season. Incredible considering he went to the Africa Cup of Nations.
That's why I would always play dembele..he might be having a bad game but then he has a moment a brilliance and it is an assist/goal.
Some brilliant bits of play by Dembele. Even when he has poor games he has moments of pure magic. One day he will be the best in the world.
Apart from the goal conceded, Mikel has been quite impressive. He's certainly an upgrade on Gonzalo Castro.
